Aggravated animal cruelty was reported on Williams Wilson Road near
Hull last week.
A man there reported that one of his roommate’s dogs had been killed.
Deputy David Kidd responded to the scene, where a six-month old dachs
hund puppy had been found stabbed behind his right ear. The dog was
deceased and there was a lot of blood in the garage. The deputy noted that
there was no blood leading into or out of the garage and that the dog appeared
to have been killed there.
The dog's owner said he suspected a neighbor who he has had an ongo
ing argument with and that one of his dogs had been poisoned in the past.
Another neighbor stated that the same neighbor is suspected to have killed
one of their dogs.
The report has been turned over to sheriff’s investigators.
In another incident, deputy Alan Stratton was dispatched to Hwy. 98 West
in reference to hit and run. When he arrived at the scene, a man told Stratton
he was leaving Midway Grocery on Hwy. 98 on his motorcycle when he
noticed a man he knows pulling out from a stop sign on Neese Commerce
Road. He said he and the man had problems in the past and that the suspect
had threatened to run over him if he ever caught him out on his motorcycle.
The victim pulled to the shoulder of Hwy. 98 and got off his motorcycle and
the suspect proceeded to run over it and then backed over the rear end of it.
The suspect’s truck was later found abandoned on Wolf Creek Trail, with his
wallet inside and one of the suspect’s boots was found a short distance away.
The K-9 officer and dog tracked the man to his residence, but he was unable
to be located. Warrants were taken for his arrest.
