Friday, August 14, 2009, at
BJC Medical Center.
Bom in Banks County,
she was the daughter of the
late Dillard and Mickey
McCoy Eubanks. She was a
member of the Lighthouse
Congregational Holiness
Church. Mrs. Anderson was
preceded in death by a son,
Turrell Kesler.
Survivors include a son,
Eugene Kesler, Commerce;
sister, Claudie Matthews,
Commerce; four grandchil
dren; seven great-grandchil
dren; and two great-great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services were
held Monday, August 17, in
the chapel of Ivie Funeral
Home with the Rev. Winfred
Bingham officiating. Burial
was in Howington Cemetery.

Wilcox Danner, 86, formerly
of Manchester, died Monday,
August 10, 2009.
Bom on November 24,
1922, in LaGrange, she was
the daughter of the late Murray
Joel Wilcox and was raised
by her stepfather, John Isaiah
Hudson and her late mother,
Nonie Schultz Hudson. She
was a retired seamstress and
florist and was a member of
the Northside Baptist Church
in Manchester. Mrs. Danner
was preceded in death by her
husband, Vance Danner; and
a sister, Mary Jo Wilcox.
Survivors include a daugh
ter and son-in-law, Anita and
A1 Westmoreland, Jefferson;
son and daughter-in-law,
David and Marilyn Danner,
Manchester; sisters, Johnnie
Parker, Dadeville, Ala., and
Helen Horne, Talladega, Ala.;
grandchildren, Elizabeth
Danner, Jennifer Sawyer and
Jeff Westmoreland; and five
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were
held Thursday, August 13,
in the chapel of Clay County
Funeral Home in Ashland,
Ala., with the Rev. Jim Pate
officiating. Burial was in
the Clay County Memory
Gardens. Honored as pall

Elizabeth Eberhardt
COMER - Elizabeth
Barrow Eberhardt, 102, died
peacefully Monday, August
17, 2009, after a wonderful
and faithful life.
Born on December 14,
1906, in Stellaville, Jefferson
County, she was the second of
five children. She grew up in
several communities around
Jefferson County before leav
ing home in 1920 to attend
the Georgia State College for
Women. She graduated from
G.S.C.W. in 1924 with an
education degree.
After college, she taught
school for one year in the
state of Florida before com
ing to Danielsville as a gram
mar teacher. In 1935, she
married Robert T. Eberhardt
Jr., of Comer, and moved to
Comer. Their only son, Bob
Eberhardt, was born to her
the following year. She and
her husband, Robert, lived a
grand 57 years together until
his death in 1992.
For several years, she
served as a middle school
grammar teacher at the
Comer Elementary School,
where she touched the lives
of many students who still
speak fondly of their time
with her. She is especially
remembered for her soft, yet
dignified manner.
During her lifetime, Mrs.
Eberhardt was dedicated to
and loved her family dearly.
She lived by the motto of
“God and family first.” She
was one of the Lord’s special
servants and served count
less organizations, including
memberships at and with
the First Baptist Church of
Comer, the Liza Graham
Sunday School Class, the
Comer Women’s Club, and
the Garden Club of Athens.
Survivors include a son,
Bob Eberhardt, Marietta;
grandchildren, Eric
Eberhardt, Watkinsville, and
Mark Eberhardt, Winder;
granddaughter-in-law, Deena
Eberhardt, Watkinsville
(spouse of Eric); great
grandchildren, Madison

Park, Fla.; ten grandchildren;

Church of Commerce, a char
ter member of the Commerce
Pilot Club, and the Harmony
Grove Garden Club. Mrs.
Langston was preceded
in death by her husband,

She was the daughter
of the late George A. and
Annie Wade Palmer. She was
retired from Westclox and
was a member of Colbert
Baptist Church. Mrs. Morris
was preceded in death by her
husband of 56 years, Hobson
G. Morris; two sisters; and
six brothers.

judge. Mr. Thomas was pre
