HOSCHTON - Geraldine
Berryman, 72, died Wednesday,
October 28, 2009.
A native of Barrow County,
she was the daughter of the late
Howell and Lois Mauldin Parks.
She was a retiree of the Jackson
County Sheriff's Department and
was a member of Walnut Fork
Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband,
Arlen Berryman, Hoschton; chil
dren, Denise Cantrell, Hoschton,
Richard Berryman, Jefferson,
Alan Berryman and Wayne
Berryman, both of Hoschton, and
Angie Griffeth, Danielsville; 14
grandchildren; 14 great-grand
children; and brothers, Bobby
Parks, Hoschton, and Jarrell
Parks, Auburn.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, October 31, in the cha
pel of Carter Funeral Home with
the Revs. Shane Caylor and Todd
Coble officiating. Burial was
in Walnut Fork Baptist Church
Cemetery.

March 8, 1922, she was the
daughter of the late Pat and
Bertha Hilley House. She was a
homemaker.
Survivors include daughters
and sons-in-law, Johnnie M. and
Berry Fountain and Linda and
Hugh Ray, all of Danielsville; sis
ters, Kathleen Moore and Willie
Lee Moore, both of Royston,
and Betty Jo Bridges, Pendleton,
S.C.; four grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.

Friday, October 30, at the Jones
Chapel United Methodist Church
Cemetery in Danielsville, with
the Rev. Thomas Hilley officiat
ing.

JEFFERSON - Robert Lee
Hall, 65, died Thursday, October
29, 2009.
Born in Emmanuel County, he
worked as produce manager with
Kroger, and was a veteran hav
ing served in the United States
Army during the
Vietnam War. He
was a graduate
of Southeastern
Seminary, received a Master’s
of Divinity from Gwinnett Bible
College, and served as a minister
for many churches throughout
Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Jo
Ann Nixon-Hall, Jefferson; sons
and daughters-in-law, Tim and
Renee Nixon, Chatsworth, and
their children, Nikki and Katy,
Todd and Noel Nixon, Conyers,
and their children, Cori, Taylor,
Ronni and Christian; and several
brothers and sisters.

Georgia National Cemetery in
Canton.

Jimmie Hunt
WINDER - Jimmie Hunt,
57, died Monday, November 2,
2009.
A native of San Antonio,
Texas, she had resided in Winder
since 1982. She was the daugh
ter of Mary Ledbetter and the
late Jimmy Ledbetter. She had
been the director of Kinder Care
Learning Center for 37 years, and
was a devoted Christian of the
Baptist denomination.
Survivors include her hus
band, G. Michael Hunt; a son, J.
Michael Hunt; siblings, Sandra
Ledbetter and Charles Ledbetter,
all of Winder, Peggy Whitt,
Washington; and a niece and
spouse, Tanii and Jerry Robledo,
Winder.
Funeral services were held
Thursday, November 5, from the
chapel of Carter Funeral Home
with the Rev. Steve Pritchett offi
ciating. Burial was in Barrow
Memorial Gardens.

Danelle Kitchens, 28, died Friday,
October 30,
2009, follow
ing a long
and coura
geous battle.
Sherry
enriched the
lives of all
who had the
opportunity
to know her
and to know
her was to love her.
To those who know and love
the Broad River, Sherry was a
constant fixture, paddling along
in her little kayak brightening the
day for all she encountered.
Sherry is survived by her moth
er Kay, also of Danielsville, and
her dad, Rick, and sister, Ashley,
both of Colbert.
She is also survived by many,
many friends and loved ones too
numerous to list.
Words cannot express the grat
itude we feel for the outpouring
of love and support during this
ordeal, but we feel that special
thanks should go out to the staff
at Rafferty’s and especially to
the nurses and personnel of the
ICU at Athens Regional Medical
Center. Guys, your performance
was far beyond the call of duty
and we will never forget what
you have done for Sherry and
the family. Also, to the ladies of
Dogwood Deli, your kindness
and consideration will be remem
bered always.
A celebration of Sherry’s life
will be held at a later date, and
in lieu of flowers, donations
may be made in her name to
the Madison/Oglethorpe County
Animal Shelter.

Love; and a brother, John Carl
Love.

Richard Massey Sr., 75, died
Saturday, October 31, 2009, at his
residence following an extended
illness.
Born on June 3, 1934, he was
the son of the late Weldon and
Chloe Pinion Massey. He was
retired front the BJC Medical
Center as director of radiolo
gy, and was a member of the
First United Methodist Church
of Commerce. He served on
the Commerce
City Council for
19 years, was a
veteran of the
United States Army, member of
the Tumblin' Waters Society, and
served on the Jackson County
Board of Health.
Survivors include his
wife, Charlotte Ray Massey,
Commerce; son and daughter-
in-law, Rick and Terri Massey,
Commerce; and granddaughters,
Lindsey and Sydney Massey,
both of Commerce.
Funeral services were held
Monday, November 2, from the
First United Methodist Church
of Commerce with David
Bowen and Carlton Allen offi
ciating. Burial was in Grey Hill
Cemetery.

Joe Ellis McCannon
HULL - Joe Ellis McCannon,
77, husband of Maudene C.
McCannon, died November 1,
2009 at his residence.
A native of Oglethorpe County,
he was the son of the late Shubb
and Lessie- Patton McCannon.
Joe was a member of Moriah
Primative Baptist Church, where
he served as deacon and trea
surer. He retired front Cooper
Tire Company after 30 years.
While working for Cooper Tire
Company, Joe’s true passion was
maintaining a cattle and poultry
farm. He held an Honorary FFA
Degree, was the 1994 Madison
County Purebred Breeder of the
Year and Broad River Soil and
Water Conservation Farm Family
of the Year in 1998. He was a
member of the Madison County
Young Farmers, Madison County
Cattleman’s Association, and the
Georgia Cattleman's Association,
Life Member of the American
Angus Association, Georgia
Angus Association and member
of the Georgia Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife; sons
and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and
Kelly Cunningham McCannon,
Carnesville, Steve and Nancy
McCannon, Pendleton, S.C.;
daughter and son-in-law, Linda
and David Echols, Hull; brother,

Earl and Nobie Harris McElroy.
She was a member of Winder
First Christian Church and
was the youngest of eight chil
dren. She had worked with the
Winder Housing Authority for
many years before working for
Graham Cleaners for 20 years.
Mrs. Moseley was preceded in
death by her husband, Grover C.
Moseley Jr.

and was

Gas Light Company in Atlanta,
Washington, and Sandersville.
He was a member of the Jefferson
First Baptist Church, member
of the Jefferson Rotary Club,
and was a Jefferson Elementary
School Mentor.
Survivors include his wife,
Vickie Alligood Rees, Jefferson;
daughter, Linsey Kay Rees,
Milledgeville; a son, David
William Rees, Jefferson; brothers,
Daniel Gray Rees, Lawrenceville,
Bill Rees Jr., Clearwater, Fla.;
and several nieces, nephews and
in-laws.

He was a veteran of the United
States Army, having served in
World War II, in Berma, India
and China. He was a member of
VFW Post 5290 in Conyers.

and nieces and nephews.

Diana Terry
ATHENS - Diana Terry, 73,
died Wednesday, October 28,
2009, following a short illness.
Born on November 3, 1935, in
Watkinsville, she was the daugh-
terofMonroe
and Helen
Ashford
Butler. She
attended the
University
of Georgia,
where she
was a mem
ber of the
Phi Mu
sorority and
graduated in 1957. She resided
in Watkinsville until her fam
ily moved to Athens in 1951, at
which time she enrolled at Agnes
Scott College and subsequently
the University of Georgia. She
was very active in a number of
civic organizations, including the
Junior League of Athens and was
on the committee that oversaw
the restoration of the Taylor-
Grady House on Prince Ave.
She was a talented and creative
interior designer and had owned
and operated several antique
and design businesses over the
years. She was a member of the
Heritage Garden Club. Diana was
a life-long Methodist, a believ
ing Christian, and a member of
the Gateway United Methodist
Church. She will be missed by all
her many friends and family.
Mrs. Terry was preceded in
death by her husband, Don Terry;
and a grandchild, Dylan Terry.
Survivors include children,
Don Terry Jr. and Martha Ashford
Terry Wilmot, both of Athens;
son-in-law, Grady Wilmot and
daughter-in-law Jennifer Terry;
and by eight grandchildren, Jake
Wilmot, Olivia Wilmot, Don
Terry III, Mary Terry, Natalie
Terry, Emily Terry, Woodson
Terry and Willow Terry; broth
er-in-law, Dennis Terry and his
wife, Andre, and their children;
cousin that she was particularly
close to. Dr. Clint Ashford and
his wife. Dr. Rebecca Ashford,
Athens; many other cousins; and
a multitude of friends in Athens
and throughout Georgia.

Monday, November 2, at the
Gateway United Methodist
Church with a private service at
Oconee Hills Cemetery.

all present who know and love
Dillon.
Dillon was carried to rest
by Jeremy Whitfield, Talsey
McCullough, Seth Blalock,
Rodney Scarborough, John Gary
and Keith Lackey.
Dillon came to know Christ
many years ago, inviting Jesus
into his heart, accepting Him as
his personal savior. The miracle
of Dillon was his gift to touch
each and every soul he met. On
this earth, Dillon lived for the
Lord, now Dillon lives with the
Lord, walking hand in hand with
Jesus on streets of gold.
We miss you every second of
every day and try hard to fol
low your example and make you
proud so that we’ll be reunited
when we’re called "home.”

greatly appreciated.

Charles Edward Whitaker died

He was the son of the late Jesse
Lee and Mammie Lue Whitaker.
He was a

Missouri and

Church. He
served in

States Army
and was
retired twice,
after being
employed
by Royston, where he worked
on the road crew for many years.
Mr. Whitaker was preceded in
death by a brother, Freddie Lee
Whitaker Jr.
Survivors include his wife,
Patricia Whitaker; daughter,
Mary Jo Murry, Arkansas; son,
Demetrius Hughes, Jefferson;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva
June and Bob Dowell and Anna
Lue and Harold Rouse, all of
Missouri; many sisters and broth-
ers-in-law; six grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; and a host
of nieces, nephews, relatives, and
friends.

with the Rev. Hubert Langston
officiating. Burial was in Evans
