will have a singing featuring the
Hicks Family Sunday, Nov. 8,
beginning at 6 p.m. The church
is located north of Danielsville
on Wildcat Bridge Road (Hwy.
281). Everyone is welcome,

•The Colbert United
Methodist Men are selling a
3-lb. bag of shelled, Plains, raw
peanuts for $5.50 per bag. The

15-20. Guest speaker will be
evangelist Scott Sivinksty and

•New Beginning Worship
Center will have all day meet
ing services on Sunday, Nov.
8, from 10:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
There will be several speakers
and singers, according to church
leaders. “You will be blessed,”
church leaders said. The pastor

the church is located on Hwy.
98, one mile before the red light
in Danielsville.
•Colbert Word of Life
Church will have a yard sale
Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8:30
a.m.-2 p.m. to benefit youth
programs at the church. The
church is located off Hwy. 72.

•Evangelical Methodist
Church, Hwy 174, in the Shiloh
Community, will have a yard
sale and bake sale on Saturday,
Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon. Lots
of "new" donations inside the
Family Life Center for sale and
the great cooks have unforgetta
ble baked goods outside, church
leaders said. Come by to browse
and visit. All proceeds go to the
family life center project.
•Bluegrass Gospel comes
to Nicholson at Beauchamps
Gospel Hall, Hwy. 441 every
Saturday night from 6-9 p.m.

gospel groups to perform," orga

•Comer Baptist Church will
have a community yard sale to
benefit their Launch Ministry at
the Comer fairgrounds Saturday,
Nov. 14, beginning at 8 a.m.,

The cost is $20 per table. Church
leaders say the Potters House
will be available to pick up any
remaining items.
•Providence Baptist Church
will hold a fall festival, hobo sup
per and concert Saturday, Nov.
7. The festival will be held from
5-8 p.m. with games for kids,
hay rides, cakewalk and other
fun activities. The hobo supper
plates are $6 each and include
fatback, combread, fried pota
toes, onion slices and choices of
black-eyed peas or pinto beans
and cabbage or slaw. The supper
will be available from 5-7 p.m. -
take out or dine in. The concert.

will hold its Annual Toys for
Christmas registration on
Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m-
noon at the Sanford Community
Center. “If you find that you
are in need of a toy for your
child(ren) for Christmas this
year, Gordon's Chapel may be
the place for you,” church lead
ers said. “We will once again
host our toy give-away for needy

this year’s registration is dif
ferent. Registration will be on
Nov. 14 only at the commu
nity center — there will be no
phone registration, church lead
ers emphasized. Those in need
must register for assistance with
toys on this day. More informa
tion about the date to pick up
toys will be given at registration,

have a Thanksgiving Celebration

•Christian Life Worship
Center will have homecom
ing services Sunday, Nov. 8, at
10:30 a.m., followed by revival
services Monday-Friday nights,
Nov. 9-13 at 7 p.m. each eve
ning. Rev. Ken Williamson, of
Cumming, will preach and sing
at the homecoming service.
The theme for the revival will
be taken from Isaiah 43:18,
“Streams in the Dessert.” Pastor
John Ingham and his staff will
be the evangelists for these ser
vices. On Sunday, Nov. 15, there
will be a water baptismal service
in the 10:50 a.m. service, lead
ers said.
•Center United Methodist
Church will have their annual
chicken stew and harvest festival
on Saturday, Nov. 7. The chicken
stew will be held from 5-7 p.m.
followed by the festival, which
begins at 7 p.m. The church is

•The Lewis Family will hold
their final concert at the Lewis
Family Pavilion in the Lincoln
County Historical Park on Nov.
7. The park will open at noon,
with Little Roy Lewis perform
ing “Parking Lot Pickin'” from
noon to 4 p.m. The concession
stand will open at 4 p.m. and the
concert will begin at 6 p.m. Jeff
and Sheri Easter will open and
the Lewis Family will follow
at approximately 6:45 p.m. “A
$10 donation gets you in to a
memorable evening of bluegrass
gospel with the Lewis Family,”
organizers said.
•Attica Baptist Church,
Athens, is seeking a full-time
pianist and music director. The
congregation averages 65-85
in attendance every Sunday.
The choir has 7-10 members
and they sing primarily unison
arrangements. Duties include
choosing three hymns and one
contemporary chorus a week for
services, as well as choosing and
preparing a call-to-worship and
hymn of invitation. Wednesday
evenings will consist of lead
ing contemporary Christian and
modem Christian rock. Pianist
should be able to play con
temporary songs, hymnals and
accompaniments. The hours will
be Sunday, both a.m. and p.m.,
choir practice and Wednesday
evenings. The pay is $111 per
week, per position. Desired are
individuals that have a passion
in helping the church grow musi
cally and spiritually. Anyone

•Sacred Heart Catholic
Church of Hartwell will have a
huge indoor arts and crafts sale
Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m.-3
p.m. “Come see the unique art
istry of many local craftsmen and
get that special gift for yourself
or others,” church leaders said.
“Baked goods, casseroles and
box lunches will be available.”
Raffle tickets will also be sold
for hourly prizes. The church is
located on Benson Street, across

•Athens Christian Women's
Connection will meet on
Thursday, Nov. 19, at 9:45
a.m. for brunch at Shoppes
at South Athens Trumps,

in our Silent Auction, and shop
for holiday decorations and
baked goods,” members said.
Babs Hawks from Woodstock
will share how “Life is Like a
Roller Coaster." There will be
a free nursery for babies and
young children, and unique
gift give ways, organizers said.
