•Gordon’s Chapel United
Methodist Church choir will
hold a Christmas cantata, “It's
the Most Wonderful Time of the
Year,” Sunday morning, Dec.
20, at 11 a.m. “Please come
and join us in celebrating our
Savior's birth,” church leaders
said.
•Da Men’s Fellowship will
meet at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec.
20, at the Da Restaurant in Da
for breakfast and fellowship.
The speaker for the month will
be the Rev. Tim Peek, pastor
of Ila Baptist Church in Da.
Organizers say this will be a
special Christmas program. The
Ila Men’s Fellowship is non-
denominational and meets every
third Sunday of the month. All
men in the community are invit
ed, organizers said.
•The Danielsville Gospel
Bam will host a gospel sing
ing Saturday, Dec. 19, at 7
p.m. Featured singers will be
Kyle Baber, Winder and The
Christianaires Trio, Collinsville,
Ala. The Danielsville Gospel

•Gordon’s Chapel United
Methodist Church in the
Sanford Community had its
annual Christmas Toy Giveaway
Saturday, Dec. 12. Over 45
families as well as over 160
children were serviced, church
leaders said. In addition, the
church’s seasonal clothes closet
was available for those fami
lies who were interested in
shopping for winter clothes.
Food boxes, stocking stuffers,
Christmas ornaments, as well
as miscellaneous items, were
also available to each family
who registered.
•Riverside Baptist Church
will hold a candle light ser
vice Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m.
“Join us in celebrating the birth
of Jesus and the lives of our
loved ones who have gone to be
with Jesus,” church leaders said.

Church will hold a Christmas
drama Sunday, Dec. 20, at 6:30

Grace and Glory,” Sunday at
11 a.m. under the direction of
Billy Jones. There will be sev

ing the birth of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ through
powerful praise and worship,”
church leaders said. The youth
and children will present “The
First Day of Christmas” under
the direction of Dennis Muller,
April Watson and Paula Bond,
Sunday evening, Dec. 20, at
6 p.m. “Please join us in this
wonderful play presentation, we
know you will enjoy it,” church

•Jones Chapel United
Methodist Church will host
several holiday events through
out the month of December
entitled “Christmas gifts to our
community.” Sunday, Dec. 20,
10:30 a.m.: “Once Upon a Holy
Night,” will be presented by the
Jones Chapel Adult Choir (one

will take place in the Family
Life Center at Jones Chapel

•Meadow Baptist Church
will have Meadow Luminary
Night Sunday, Dec. 20, begin
ning at 7 p.m. “Everyone is
invited to a night of remem
brance and celebration,” church
leaders said. “Family whose
loved ones are buried in the
Meadow Cemetery, along with
the Meadow Baptist Church
family, are planning a ‘Night
of Light’ Sunday, Dec. 20, from
7-8:30 p.m. Luminaries will be
set out at every grave in the
Meadow Cemetery and along
the driveways.” “Just before 7
p.m., these luminaries will be
tit, providing a beautiful scene
that honors the memory of those
lives that shone so brightly in
our presence,” leaders said.
“As we celebrate the lives of
those who were special to us,
we also will be focusing on
the Christmas season.” Tents
will be set up in the field in
front of the cemetery, with live
music and warm refreshments.
At 8 p.m. there will be a time
of remembrance, followed by
a closing prayer of thanksgiv
ing for the blessing of family,
leaders said. Those who wish to
place luminaries, or would like
to help the group with expenses,

•Community Baptist
Church will have its seventh-
annual New Year’s Eve singing
Thursday, Dec. 31, from 8 p.m.
- midnight. Southern Gospel
groups to perform during the
evening will include “The Roy
Knight Singers” and “Georgia.”
There will be a soup and salad
intermission, with the church
family participating in an annual
soup cook-off. “All are invited
to come and join in for a great
evening of worship as we bring
in the New Year,” church lead
