HOMER - Lester “Luke”
Armour, 72 died Monday,
December 14, 2009, at
Northeast Georgia Medical
Center following a brief ill
ness.
Bom in Hall County on
August 21, 1937, he was
the son of the late Jiles and
Bonnie Brown Armour. He
was employed in the sanita
tion department at Fieldale
for 15 years and was a mem
ber of Bethesda Fellowship
Church. He enjoyed fish
ing and was also an animal
enthusiast. Mr. Armour was
preceded in death by his
wife, Barbara Ann Armour;
and brothers, Glenn Armour,
Larry Armour, Troy Armour
and Rick Armour.
Survivors include daugh

at the Alzheimer’s Care of
Commerce.
Born in Franklin County
on August 30, 1919, she was
the daughter of the late Lou
Vinnie Fowler Chambers.
She was a seamstress hav
ing worked with Comer
Manufacturing and was a
member of the Cedar Grove
Baptist Church. Mrs. Coile
was preceded in death by her
husband, James Tarl Coile
Sr.
Survivors include a son,
James T. Coile Jr., Comer;
daughter, Linda Phillips,

Vaughn Cotton, 78, died
Monday, December 14, 2009,
at her residence.
Born in Banks County on
November 11, 1931, she was
the daughter of the late Dock
and Mae Coker Vaughn. She
was a member of the Baldwin
Baptist Church and a member
of the Joy Club of the Church.
She retired as a lab technician
with Ethicon Inc., a Johnson
and Johnson Company, with
29 years of service. She was
a member of the 25-year
club of Ethicon and was on
the Board of Johnson and
Johnson retirees. Mrs. Cotton
was preceded in death by her
son-in-law, Randy Ramsey;
daughter-in-law, Sandreal
Cotton; and brothers, Joe and
Bryant Vaughn.
Survivors include her hus
band of 59 years, William
J. “Dub” Cotton, Cornelia;
daughters and son-in-law,
Denise and Hank Crump,
Baldwin, and Connie Ramsey,
Cornelia; sons, Donald
and Steve Cotton, both of
Cornelia; sister, Genell
Carlan, Homer; brother, Olin

grandchildren.

Dabbs, 78, entered into her
eternal rest promised to
her by her Savior and Lord
Jesus Christ on Thursday,
December 10, 2009. She
was surrounded by her three
daughters, the loving care
of the BJC Nursing Home
Staff, the compassionate care
of Advantage Hospice Care
and special friend, Patsy
Morrison.
Born in Commerce on
January 22, 1931, she was
married to William Hugh
Dabbs on May 26, 1953.
Mrs. Dabbs was a member
of Madison Street Baptist
Church. She held various
jobs over the years, but the
most important to her was
being a homemaker.
Mrs. Dabbs was preced
ed in death by her parents,
Reeves and Thelma Thomas;
husband, William “Bill”
Hugh Dabbs; son, William
Alan Dabbs; and sister, Annie
Merle Morales.
Survivors include
daughters, Tina Bennett,
Commerce, Susy Sarna,
Comer, and Debbie Klar,
Lawrenceville; brother, Odell
Thomas, Commerce; and five
grandchildren.

Friday, December 11, in the

Orr Fleeman, she was the
widow of Buddy Everett.
Mrs. Everett was a retiree
of Barrow Manufacturing
Company and a member of
Bethabra Baptist Church.
She had resided in Barrow
County for most of her life.

Elizabeth Floyd Glenn, 94,
died Thursday, December 10,
2009, at her residence.
Born in Madison County
on May 30, 1915, she was the
daughter of the late Jeffers
Gratin and Myra Jane Bullock
Floyd. She was a graduate of
Marsh Business College in
Atlanta and was employed as
a bookkeeper in that city prior
to her marriage. As a lifelong
member of Pleasant Grove
Baptist Church, she served in
various capacities including
Sunday School class presi
dent and missionary society
president as well as assuming
leadership roles in the church
extension outreach program.
She also worked tirelessly
as a community fundraiser
for the American Cancer
Society, American Heart
Association and the Neese
Volunteer Fire Department.
She was a former president of
the Neese Women’s Club and
had been a member of the
Madison County Chamber
of Commerce, the Madison
County Friends of the Library,
Gordon’s Chapel United
Methodist Church Over Fifty
Club and the Pleasant Grove
Baptist Church Silver Club.
Mrs. Glenn was preceded in
death by her husband, Willis
Anderson Glenn; sister,
Naomi Floyd Haesler; and
brothers, Bill Floyd, Henry
Floyd and George Floyd.
Survivors include a son
and daughter-in-law, Willis
Jackson and Sceva Ballew
