Honest, honorable, faithful and oapable as he is, and as he has been honored time and again by the pnoole, makes the appointment to them most satia faotory. For years he has been known as among the most eminent oriminal lawyers of the state, and his services have been sought for far and wide by people who have been so unfortunate as to have been in trouble end the only re grets at his appointment is by those who will need his services in defending them at the bar of justice. We congratulate the peo ple npon his selection, feeling fall well that their every interest will be subserved so far as it lies in his power to do it. Of course this appointment does not hinder him praoticing in the higher courts in any capacity. With Judge Cobb on the benoh and Judge Thomas \ as proseoutor the evil doers would do well to cease from their wrong doings, or yon will feel the strong arm oi the law as sure as you live . The bazaar this week was a grand Bnccess.
