Bibb county, reports the discovery,
near there, of an apparently very
rich vein of coal. A well of mi¬
usual depth was being dug when

The Meeting Closed.
The protracted services at the
Christian church were brought to a
close with the morning service to
day.
The meeting throughout was an
interesting and profitable one, and
seyeral accessions were made to the
church. *
Rev. Mr. Dodson, of Atlanta,
Ga., rendered able assistance to
the pastor, Rev. T. M. Foster, and
his sermons were listened to with a
great deal of interest, and it is be¬
lieved that much good was done.
The church was crowded at each
service and the interest felt in the
meeting never seemed to grow less.
Some of the applicants for mem¬
bership received baptism yesterday
morning, others to-day, after which
Krvices were held at the church and
the meeting dosed.

COURSE OF INSTRUCTION:
The course of study will be thorough, practical, and systematic.
It is believed to contain enough for business pursuits, and, all that is
necessary for a basis on which may be reared a classical education.
Students may choose and pursue a select course; but ii regular, system¬
atic course will be recommended and insisted upon.

DISCIPLINE:
The Discipline of the school will be mild and persuasive, but firm
and decisive. The strictest surveillance will be held over the moral
and intellectual training of the pupils. It ..is believed that boys and
girls should be inspired by lofty motives to govern themselves; that they

and honor; to do right, not because they' are watched, but because it is
RIGHT Thus inspired and taught, they go into the world men and

women in all that the words imply; otherwise, they go out as mere
machines, unable to control themselves,—slaves to their own appetites
an d passions. Proper punishment will not he spared when it becomes
necessary; but we wish it emphatically understood that we want no
pupil in school who delights in raising-disturbances and in doing wrong
because he thinks he will never be detected in it.
LOCATION, ADVANTAGES, ETC.
Bogart High School is located in the town of Bogart, Oconee Coun¬
ty, Georgia, on the S. A. L. R. R., 63 miles east of Atlanta, 10 miles
west of Athens, Ga. The school building is comparatively a new one,
and in the near future will be arranged to comfortably seat 250 or 300
