Cotto.v.—The market continues in a dull
state, and prices are daily declining. Prices
offered one day and declined, cannot be ob
tained the noxt. This state of things is
caused by tho scarcity of money, and un
favorable advices from below and from Eu
rope, and prices are now ruling lower than
they have been for several years past. The
decline since Wednesday last, on nil quali
ties offered for wile, has been fully 4 to J
cents—tho latter price on the lower grades,
which constitute the bulk of tho present
offering stock. Grades above Good Mid
dling aro scarce and difficult to bo had, as
little or none is offering. The demand has
been fair, but the low prices offered by pur
chasers, causes planters to be reluctant sel
lers. The sales of tho week reach 1500 to
2000 bales, the market closing dull at the
quotations given below. The receipts are
light for tho season of tbe year, and the
shipments are on the increase, both to S&-
vannah nnd Charleston. Wo now quote.
