When I won in my fifteenth jmx,
And whtit the world called fair,
F loved a youth who** ayes worn dark,
And raven black his hair.
My little heart wout_pit-a-pal •
• Whene'er ho passed me hjr,
And if he’d look at other mkidi
I'd sit ine down nnd sigh.
Music wh* in his siivory voice,
And he would softly tell
Hot/ dearer far than nught besides
!lo loved his Isabel * - *
And a - he trembling told me iovc,
I blushed and mine confessed;
And then, O ! I was sure,
The/irrt lore vine tho best.
1 ne liostcyed •>*». Two summers more
Tliuir splendor* o'er uio threw,
AI y fancy changed; I now adored
i'wo laughing eyes of blue.
My lir.'t love s voice its swootness lost,
Hi- eyes, moth ought, grew dim,
Ynd much I marvelled how I e’er
Had loved or fancied him.
v -L-rond love now whispered me
That 1 was wondrous fair;
That ‘Cupid wanton’d in tny eyes,
And revelled in my hair;
A might wo vowed our little hearts
Should own no other guest,
And then--why, thou, I had no doubt
That second lore was the best.
Cut ’ >,i. alas! another change
Wa- nVi iny fancy thrown ;
I'h- eauly <ri uiy second love
V > more in splendor shone.
■ -r hippud at another shrine;
lilac eyes had had their day ;
i loved, <>! yes, I dearly lored
Two eyes of sparkling gray.
Ami -niter fur ;han orbs of blue.
Or eyes of jet, they cast
I nch radiance o’er my beating heart,
Which seemed to love at last.
II - • cents like a seraph’s voice
Sweet on my ear did fall;
And then—yes, then, I thought and felt
Thin! lore, was tho best of all.
Tun lid tny fancy—fickle jade!—
I >r years her wanderings keep ;
And many a solemn vow I breath'd
Of passion wild and doep;
Till reason came to fancy’s aid,
This lesson to impart,
That lasting vow is only bound
In a pure and kindred heart.
: ..light and found thatkindred heart,
And now all change defy;
No more thore’s magic in a form,
Nor iu.-tre in an eye;
These fuding r-liarms no more I hoed,
My spi. it is at rest,
Fur now I feel, nnd know, indeed,
That lout lore is the host.

B Y JOHNSON STEWART ROSE, M. D.,
Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians,
and for years Senior Physician in the London
Royal Infirmary for diseases of the Lungs.
In the treatment of Consumption bj' inhalation,
I have obtained the results which warrant me in
asserting, that it is now as curable as disenfe? of
tho Stomach and Liver.
Breathing medicine directly into the lung? is
certainly the rational mode of attacking the dis
ease, and like many other great and benificcnt dis
coveries, it seems strange why such treatment its;
not resorted to long ago. Where there is life there
is now assured hope for the most seemingly hope
less ease?, as throughout all the stage? of the in
sidious disease, the wonderful and benificcnt ef
fects of his treatment are soon apparent. Inca-
ses also of Bronchitis, Asthma, etc., the inhaling
of powders aud vapors has been eminently-sne-
cossful, and to those suffering under any of the
above named complaints, I can gurrantee speedy
and certain relief. I have pleasure in referring to
207 names, resident? of New York and neighbor
hood, who have bcc-n restored to vigorous health.
About one third of tho abovenumber, according to
the patients own statement?, were considered hope
less cases.
The Inhaling Method is southing, sate, anci
cousists in the administration of medicine in such
a manner that they arc conveyed into the Lungi-
ir. tho form of vapor, and produce their action at
the seat of tiie disease. Its practical success is
destined to revolutionize the opinions of the medi
cal world, and establish the entire curability o;
consumption.
Applicants will please state if they have ever
bled from the Lungs, if they have lost tiesb, have
a cough, night sweats and fever turns—what and
how much they expectorate, what the condition
of their stomach and bowels. The necessary Med
icines, Apparatus, etc., will be forwarded to any
part.
TERMS—Five Dollars, consultation fee. Bal
ance of tee payable only when patients report
themselves convalescent:
