press there’s much excitement
and many _gpin’s ons and I
just; gotta tell you about it -

Oscar Awars - the opening of
Hollywood Hot, a new show bar,
the opening of the very cruisy
Stephan’s, Mother’s reopened
and R.J.’s, Manhattan Yellow
Pages all opened this last month
and each have live sparkling
feows. I’ve made the scene &
just loved.' ‘ em.
On The Drag Scene . , . the
Qiyx this month will have their
Miss Onyx Contest May 12th and
<ri May 26th they’ll have a Drag
Dali. So here’s your chance to
win the first prize of $100 by just
dressing up and modeling your
bvely outfits for the judges.
There will be their regular shows;
featuring the frantic and gay Mr.
Mickey Day, Miss Vicki,
R C. Cola and a new little
blond honey, Heather. The Mr.
Qiyx Contest was just super and
no one was Surprised when their
M. Valentine Lew Paynter won-
Hammond Mize and name
unknown were the other winners;
at the Sweet Gum Head, May
5th. Phyllis will be there with
fee 8th Annual Oscar Award-
s . . . this is the most exciting
went at the bars each year when
• theStars of the year are awarded
a token of appreciation for their
efforts to entertain you. The,
nominations are tough and 1 just
can’t imagine who will win.
VOTE for your favorites and
come see our fantastic shows.
Michael Andrews and Dick
Christopher will be there two
week ends in April and May r ■
lisa K ing will be featured, in a
Special. It you haven’t seen
Bertha Butts one. of the Butts
sisters then there’s a treat for
jou. She’s jus too much and it’s
in the right places. Dina Jacobs
will be holding court there with
Sayton Devill and the; sheer
madness of Miss La vita Alien. If,
you didn’t see the Roski Fer
nandes Special at the Gum Head
well what can I say. Roski and a
<ast of thousands were just
marvelous and it has to be the
g-eatest production that has hit
our town in many moons ... I
jist can’t rave enough over her
many talents .
Hollywood Hot .. . . is just
Hot [That is just the way it is -
Robbie Llewellyn has the old
Brave Falcon location and now
we have Hollywood Hot. The
Hot Show features Shady Lady
Daisy Dalton, Diva Shancez,
Angie de Marco, Gina St. John
and your had to guess the
Hottest Disco Darling - Hot
Chocklate. All this and Mr. Jody
Paramore is the show director
who has shaped up some very
exicitng and original production
lumbers that are just flawless.
The club is most beautiful show
bar in these parts and the
Hollywood touch is the collection
rf Hollywood star pictures that
made Hollywood Hot.. . Really.
. the Atlanta favorites the
Grease Sisters will be here as
regulars. And Emory DuBois,
Miss Gay Universe-will return
hter in May. The act is just
aiper and that’s one star show
really knows how to handle an
audience. There are; shows each
right; Cocktail time is 4:00.
Robbie plans to have Special
Guest stars appearing and Freda.
Payne top on the list. Toots
©me and and you’ll agree it is
the hottest show bar in town.
The Cabarets » . . At the
dd Club III location 1135 W
Peachtree R.J.’s opened with a
live muscial review “A Glimpse
nto Hollywood Nostalgia from
the 20’s to the 70’s” It is really
©mething new on the Scene - its
a fast moving review of sketches
and muscial numbers. Leigh
Shannon is a stand out in her
©medy walk ons. The cast all do
solo spots. . . by the beatiful
•Chattanooga Choo-Choo. Some
singing waiters and a very
jrofessional cast. The entire
place has been beautifully
redcorated and a delightful menu
of many different .countries is
served home style. R.J.’s is
certainly a welcome treat of our
giy scene. With dancing, disco,
dining and such a fantastic ,
©metimes a little camp live
show. r ’o Richard and Juan
Phyllis would love to give them
an Oscar right now.
Manhattan Yellow Pages; (Old
Sting location m Peachtree
Buttle Shopping Center) opened
featuring a few days of previews
and my dear at the t grand
opening it was just sheer
heaven. Ben Thompson and
David Sheppard I knew them
when they had the Worshop
Theatre on Monroe Drive have
really taken their show uptown.
The old Sting-has-had a mar
velous face lift and it is now ever
so Art Deco - mirrors and palms
.and precious little {honeson each
table so you can call in your
(kinks on dinner or just chatt
with a-'pretty one; across the
crowded room..

Shirely Temple Jones answers the call . . . Save the Fox. Herewith
Play girl centerfold Pete Lupus backstage when Delta Zet Sorority 4
presented the History of Hollywood on March 20,1976.
Their “Natural History of
American Chorus” is just sheer,
hoot. Campy and Busby
Thompson really did themselves
with this production, the
Ziegfeld Girl - but when Dorthy
hnded from Kansas on that
stageheaded for Oz was when I
really got off. JT ve seen an loved
this many times but this one
would really give Judy a laugh.
The munchkins are unreal and so
bve'able the entire cast was just
marvelous. The show with many
production numbers, costumes
and the many talents are making
tin at musical comedies is really
delightful.
Disco’s . . , Mother’s
opened the ,14th to a capacity
house of dancers . .v. Mother
was there in person > . as I said
hst, month when I gave you a
preview of the interior it is * a
sight to . set an entire new con
cept in disco, with delightful
©lots''new levels for cruising,
and fantastic sounds that David
Nistasi keeps sending out. The
lights are jttst too much that is
for Phyllis, I need pink and
amber for glamour reasQns, the
<asa of thousands that will be
Jhei^e are just gonna love it.
-Whey they even havea cozy little
corner up front where you can sit
and chatt under the fantastic
portrait rf “Mother” painted by
Jetty Hiles. Seeing what he did
for her, wonder what he rould do
for me! They have had such a
time getting open I am delighted
for them.' You’ll just love
it;there are more.things planned
dancing ntf* tfrer Yrtrtif 1 Have 'to*
oijoy the juice there too and you
know how they do pour it out!
The Trains Are In and at
Union Station there is much
going on . . . getting ready for
fee first big ride. I think you
should know there has been
©me city regulations and rules
and rules and tacky regulations
Ike the door in the train is one
inch too small and the like. That
s being worked out and it won’t
be long before the Diamond Lil
Lounge will be open. Just hang
in there and remember that the
Station House is jumping and
when it comes to dancing there is
{lenty of room there. It’s the
largest Disco in the USA. Let’s
fence . . . tonite at the Station
Hou se . . . Union Station that
is.
Toots, well 'now let’s go on
fee cruise and w ould you believe
that we have a new Cruise Bar,
well that’s what I’m calling
it . . . but it is just the goo-
\iest thing I’ve hit on yet. It’s
Stephen’s Saloon at 1833
Peachtree Street, but don’t go
ait looking for signs and
numbers. Find the weather
board front building. Or watch
where the hunkier, hunkier go.
Toots you won’t believe what
those Yankees from Detroit
have done without old bar doors
and tiffany glass windows. They
have created a very rustic,
primitive elegance with it. Steve
Leigh Shannon one of last year’s Oscar winners, Robert, Tom and
Barry camp it up in R.J.’s live Cabaret review.
* .So you want tp,go on Oi$.cp
..Dancing, well the Backstreet and
;Joe’s are really packing’em in. as
always. The lucky young dolls
fence and dance, I never should
have worn these damn boots
. what were made for walking or I
could keep up with them, but
fiey ruined my tootsies, however
Phyllis Killer is not on cruches
