Robinson, Jr. is lit erally following in his father’s footsteps. In fact, with his recent promo tion from a project manager for the Georgia Department of Transportation to the department’s local resident engineer, he’s now sitting in the same seat in which his father sat for several years before retiring in September 1988. Robinson, a 1989 graduate of Southern Tech in Marietta, assumed his new duties on February 1. He was promoted after a five year stint as a project manager working in the Perry office and replaces the recently retired John “Todie” Marshall. His new responsibilities include overseeing all DOT construction and maintenance projects on state roads in Houston, Peach, Pulaski, Dooly and Macon counties. “The DOT definitely runs in my family’s blood . . .My father worked with the department; my grandfather worked with the depart ment My great uncle, my cousins and my brother all work for the de partment,” Robinson said smiling. “As for this job, I am very excited about my new duties and am look ing forward to working with the public.
