Houston Arts Alliance
Supports Perry Players
The Houston Arts Alliance is an
on-going group of volunteers
dedicated to the cultural well-being
of the citizens of Houston County.
Lately, it became apparent that the
Perry Players were in need of
funding for their new building, so
HAA representatives did their part
to make sure that the project is
completed.
Dennis Hooper, President of
Perry Players said, "We have raised
half of the $200,000 needed for the
renovation of the building at 909
Main Street. Our financial history
is excellent and we have a good
plan for both the construction and
the fundraising."
The Perry Players are dedicated
to those who are interested in
acting, singing, dancing, or
producing cultural entertainment.
They pride themselves on reaching
out to those who want to grow and
develop confidence through personal
experience and through learning
from others. They don't require
experience, they provide it! The

Real Estate Agents
The Perry Board of Realtors
recognized award winners at the
group's Annual Awards Dinner on
Feb. 23 at the Houston Lake
Country Club.
Recognized as the Realtor of the
Year was Jim Pensyl of Century 21
Town & Country.
Anna Pritchett of Richardson-
Free received the President’s Award
following her year of serving in
that capacity.
The keynote speaker for the
event was regional vice-president of
the Georgia Association of Realtors
Dale Washburn.
He told the gathering that an
important arm of the real estate
organization is its lobbying group.
"One important bill being
introduced (in Congress) would
require all homeowners to provide
inspections for lead-based paint
before closing (the sale of the
home)," said Washburn.
He went on to say that passage
of such a bill would be disastrous
to homeowners who have lead-based
paint in their home because it
would wipe out any equity they
would have built up in their
property over 10-15 year to have
the paint removed.
Others receiving honors included
Million Dollar Club recipients
Donnie Free and Scott Free of
Richardson-Free, Lynward Barrett,
Eugene Graham and Keith Seamon
of Landmark Realty, Charles
Malone of Home Place Realty, and
Jim Pensyl of Century 21 Town &

Thompson,
from 4A
Keep your mouth shut and re
member what mothers have been
telling their children since the be
ginning of time: “If you can’t say
anything nice, don’t say anything at
all.”
And, if you just can’t help your
self, at least don’t say these things
when someone has a video camera
trained on you so that the whole
world sees and hears you.
You’re a public figure now.
Don’t you have a public relations
or image consultant that can keep
you from doing and saying such
stupid things?
Apparently not. Because, if you
did, they would have surely realized
that the 16-year-old orphaned Baiul
would quickly capture the hearts and
sympathies of the world.
And, surely, they could have told
you that your poor sportsmanship
would—especially in this case—make
you appear not like a gracious
princess at all, but a real first class
snob with a heart as cold as the ice
you skate on.
Personally, I’m glad you didn’t
win. Because even if your ability
had warranted the gold medal, your
attitude would surely have tarnished
it!
