n — w* Death notices M. Doc Bonner AVONDALE ESTATES-M. Doc Bonner, 81. of Avondale Estates, Ga. died Monday, March 14, 1994 at his residence. Born in Bloomington, Texas, he had resided in Avondale Estates for 38 years and was a member of the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. He was self-employed as a Building Contractor and was married to Rosealee Kight Bonner. Survivors: wife, Rosealee Bonner of Avondale Estates; sister Helen Turner Miller of Lexington, S.C.; several nieces and nephews. Services: Will be held at the Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church on Wednesday, March 16,1994 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Charlie Smith and Rev. Phillip Murphy will officiate. Burial will take place in the Christ Sanctified Holy Church Cemetery in Perry on March 16,1994. William Lamar Jackson MACON-William Lamar Jackson, SO, of 3541 Shady Rest Road, died Monday, March 14,1994 in a Macon hospital. He attended Swift Creek United Methodist Church and was a Navy veteran. Survivors: wife, Rosa Lee Jackson of Macon; son, Raymond Lamar Jackson of Macon; sisters, Joyce Cox of Orlando, Fla., and Gayle Moore of Perry; and a grandchild. Services: Will be held Wednesday, March 16, 1994 in the Swift Creek United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Lanning will officiate. The family may be contacted at the residence. Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements. Bessie Hattaway Langston Bessie Hattaway Langston, 83, of RL 2, died Saturday, March 12,1994 in an Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville. Bom in Glascock County, she was the daughter erf the late Amos and Alice Hattaway and had lived in Henderson most of her life. Mrs. Langston was a member of the Henderson United Methodist Church and the AARP. Survivors: two sons, Fred W. Langston Jr. and Steve H. Langston, both of Henderson; sisters, Alice McGhee of Augusta, Gloria Shular of Jacksonville, Fla., Lynette Arnold of Orlando, Fla. and Anne Feola of Miami, Fla.; brothers, Carey Hattaway and Roy Hattaway, both of Sandersville, Willie Hattaway of Atlanta and Amos Hattaway Jr. of California; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Langston Sr. Services: Were held Monday, March 14, 1994 in the Henderson Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Burial took place in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry. The Revs. Eddie Braswell, W.T. Hollis and Tom Teat officiated. Maude Reynolds Pitts Maude Reynolds Pitts, 95, of 1607 Marshall Circle, died Sunday, March 13, 1994 in a local nursing home. Bom in Lownes County, she was the daughter of the late W.O. Reynolds and Ellen Miller Reynolds. She had resided here since 1956 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perry. Survivors: son, Jack Pitts of Perry; two granddaughters, Beth Celeschi of Thomasville and Beckey Hester of Lenox; grandson, George Henry Pitts Jr. of Adel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jackson Pitts Sr. Services: Were held Tuesday, March 15, 1994 in the First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. The officiating clergy was Dr. John O. Yarbrpugh. Burial took place in the Deep Bottom Cemetery in Norman Park, Ga. on Tuesday, March 15,1994. William Victor Strom William Victor Strom, 97, of 816 Woodsdale Drive, died Saturday, Feb. 26,1994 at his residence. He was the son of the late Charles A. and Emile Strom and was a retired Construction Engineer civil service employee. Mr. Strom had resided here since 1988 from Jacksonville, Fla. and was a Catholic. Survivors: two daughters, Linda Johnson of Perry and Elizabeth McGovern of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; and a great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Strom. Services: Funeral was held in the Watson-Hunt Chapel on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. The officiating clergy was Father Michael O'Keefe. Entombment took place on Monday, Feb. 28, 1994 in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla. Styrofoam Peanuts Recyclable We have said it before, but it is worth repeating. Styrofoam "peanut" packing material can be reused/recvcled. The peanut packing is surely a good protector of products-but the stuff is also one of the world's worst litter problems. If these little fellows get loose, especially with a little wind, they fly everywhere. In the garbage they are bound to escape in the compactor truck, and then scatter on the collection route or at the landfill. Perry’s Chris J. Delanghe Completes Basic Training Navy Airman Apprentice Christopher J. Delanghe, son of John M. and Andrea Delanghe of Perry recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command in Orlando, Fla. During the cycle, recruits are taught general military subjects designed to prepare them for further academic and on-the-job training in one of the Navy's 85 occupational fields. Studies inlcude seamanship, close-order drill, naval history and first aid.
