Page 2A Saturday, March 19,1994 “Houston Times-Journal Death notices Wayne Allen Cutrell, Jr. HOUSTON, TX.-Wayne "Allen" Cutrell, Jr., 29, passed away at his home in Houston, Texas on Feb. 24, 1994. An honor graduate of the University of Houston, Clear Lake, Texas with a B.A. in History, Allen was the owner of Serious Video Productions and was an expert in computerized video production, including animated special effects. He was an active member of the Sports Car Club of America and worked in the pit crew of a friend's race car. He was an animal lover and an avid debater. Allen was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marjorie and Bailey Harrison of Perry and his paternal grandfather, Myron Cutrell of Ft. Valley. Survivors: his mother and step-father, Emily Harrison Bowers and Joe T. Bowers of Houston; father and step-mother, Wayne and Kathy Cutrell of Virginia; brother, Andy Cutrell o r Houston; grandmother, Mrs. Florence Cutrell of Ft. Valley; step-sister, Teri Bowers; step brothers, Greg Bowers and fiancee, Anne Davis, Doug Bowers and wife, Christy, all of Houston, Lee Bowers of Austin, Tx., and Joe Bowers 111 and fiancee Susan Charron of Salt Lake City, Utah, several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Services: Were held Wednesday, March 2, 1994 in the Clear Lake United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Burial followed in the Forest Park East Cemetery in Houston, Tx. Rocella A. Dover LAWRENCEVILLE-Mrs. Rocelia A. Dover, 65, of Lawrenceville, died Saturday, March 12, 1994. A native of Gwinnett County, she was a homemaker and member of the New Cansan Baptist Church. Mrs. Dover also worked for many years with her husband at the Dover Restaurant in Lawrenceville. Survivors: husband, Earl Carroll Dover of Lawrenceville; children, Mr. and Mrs. Ed (Teresa Dover) Holcombe of Conyers, Dr. and Mrs. Greg (Kathy Dover) Harold of Perry; father, Mr. C.S. Allen of Lawrenceville; sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt (Shirley) Caylor, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. (Connie) Smith, all of Lawrenceville; brothers, Mr. Avery Allen of Lawrenceville, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Joyce) Allen of Dawsonville; several nieces and nephews; and six grandchildren. Services: Were held Monday, March 14, 1994 in the Wages Oake Lawn Chapel at 2 p.m. The Rev. McHoyt Moore and Rev. Mike Soop officiated. Interment took place in the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Emma Davis McEachern CLINCHFIELD-Emma Davis McEachern, 73, of Clinchfield, died Tuesday, March 15, 1994 at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. Bom in Treutlen County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Hattie Davis. Emma was a member of the Clinchfield Presbyterian Church and a retired civil service employee from RAFB. Survivors: husband, James A. McEachern of Clinchfield; two daughters, Roxie Anne Munn of Garland, Tx. and Shelia Paul of Warner Robins; brother, C.J. Davis of Perry; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services: Were held Friday, March 18, 1994 in the Watson-Hunt Chapel at 11 a.m. Burial took place in the Perry Memorial Gardens. The Rev. JJ. Morrow officiated. Jessie Roberts Jessie Roberts, of 930 Elko Rd„ died Monday, March 14, 1994, at a local hospital. Bom in Houston County to the parentage of the late Otha and Julia Roberts. Survivors: children. Sherry Roberts and Kenneth Roberts, both of Warner Robins, Chuck McCray, Jessie McCray, Jessica Napier, Danielle Stubbs, Charles Campbell, Jeffrey Campbell and Kizzy Lane, all of Perry; brothers, John Roberts of Seattle, Washington, Danielle Roberts of Perry, Sammy Roberts and James Roberts, both of Savannah; and nine grandchildren. Services: Will be held Saturday, March 19, 1994 in the Richardson Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the Flat Creek Cemetery in Perry. The Rev. James Sherman will officiate. Richardson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Churches Plan Activities For Members, Community Greater Union Baptist The annual Usher's Day Celebration will be held at the church this Sunday at 3 p.m. Various usher boards from different churches have been asked to appear in the program. Come let us lift up die name of Jesus together. The board promises to make this day a joyous one. Houston Lake Baptist A church-wide gospel sing will be held at the church Sunday, March 20 at 7 p.m. Also Sunday will be a children's committee meeting at 5 p.m. A council meeting will be held Tuesday, March 22 at 7 p.m. First Baptist Perry A youth musical about being a witness, The Extra Mile, will be presented Sunday, March 20 at 7 p.m. The adult choir will present an Easter musical, Every Tongue Confess, Sunday, March 27 and Monday, March 28 at 7 p.m. each evening. Also on Palm Sunday, the morning service will be filled with each member carrying a small palm branch and sharing in the praise of Jesus. During Holy Week, March 28- April 1, the church will host noon luncheon services sponsored by the Perry Ministerial Association. Servers are needed each day. Men or women who are interested are asked to call Coleyne Connell. On Easter, the church will cele brate the resurrection during two special services, including an ob servation of the Lord's Supper dur ing the evening service. The church goal for Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for Home Missions is $6,500. The church has four messenger positions still available for the Southern Baptist Convention to meet in Orlando, FI. Perry Presbyterian Church The video series "Origins-How the World Came to Be" continues at the church at 7 p.m. on the follow ing dates: April 3, 17. This video series looks at the scientific evidence for special cre ation as the Bible speaks of it and at the impossibility of modem evo lutionary thought for explaining the world we know. There will also be supplemen tary lectures and Bible studies to answer questions. The public is in vited to attend this informative and interesting series. Plans are now being made for the Children's Easter ®gg Hunt on Wednesday, March 30. Volunteers are needed to help with the party. Please see Jane Shepley. Greater Word of Deliverance The church, in an attempt to bring people together to discuss the growing violence in our streets, is hosting a dinner banquet "Youth Against Violence" at the Holiday Inn in Perry Saturday, March 26 at 7 p.m. Special guest speakers include Mr. Doug Porter, athletic director at Fort Valley State College, Sheriff Cullen Talton and Judge George F. Nunn Jr., Houston County Superior Court Judge. The cost for the banquet dinner is sl4 per person. He stated that the implication was "totally false". The editorial was correct in saying that Blackmon is open and honest with the press through his position on the school board. Dana competed against 10 other Perry Middle School students for the honor. Dana is the daughter of Tommie and Jane Collier of Perry.
