Wednesday, March 30,1994 "Houston Times-Journal Page 8B PTC Gather For Meeting Approximately 150-175 Perry Elementary School Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) members and their children met in the school cafeteria Monday night, March 21 to hear Principal Patsy Hutto explain plans for the remainder of the year. Dates and activities to remember included: •March 23-Picture Day •April 2-Dogwood Parade •April 4-8-Spring Break •April 14-Third through fifth grades Choral Program at Perry High School at 7 p.m. •April 25 - Math Workshop •April 30-PTC BBQ •M»v 13 - Field Dav. Parents were invited to visit class rooms where teachers demonstrated how they teach reading and writing a news story from the story read, letting the students give the high points of the story, and spelling ev ery word of their “news story". Melanie Loggins and Tricia Parker, kindergarten teachers at the school, gave the demonstrations. The children could "sound" the syl lables, and spell the words. Ward of Cordele and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mendes Kicklighter of Perry The late Mr. Kicklighter was formerly a partner in Akin- Kicklighter Drug Co.in Perry and his wife, Mrs. Caroline Kicklighter, taught music and was organist at Perry United Methodist Church. The garden wedding is planned for April 30 at the home of the bride's parents. -To Brenda Gay Lancaster and James Heath Dykes upon the announcement of their engagement. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lancaster of Hawkinsville and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dent and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert R. Lancaster. The groom elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Dykes and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Dykes and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Watson, all of Cochran. She is employed by Meadowdale Learning Center in Warner Robins and the Houston County Board of Education in Perry. He is a peace officer with the Perry Police Department. The wedding is planned for May 14 at the First United Methodist Church in Hawkinsville. -To Sandra Patrice Webb and Rodney Jay Bogue upon the announcement of their engagement. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mary Nunley of Warner Robins and Mr. and Mrs. James G. Webb of Macon, and the granddaughter of Thelma Webb of Warner Robins and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger Blount Sr. of Thomaston. The groom-elect ils the son of Jim R.
