William Burch
HAWKINS VILLE-William "Bill* Burch, 78, of 142 Hilltop Road, died
Monday, in a local hospital. Born in Dodge County, he was the son of
the late James and Willie Burch. He was a builder and was a member of
Broad Street Baptist Church. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors;
wife, Alice Brooks Burch of Hawkinsville; children, Laveme Dowdy and
Jinvema Ertict, both of Greenville, S.C., and Mary Burch of Greer, S.C.;
brothers and sisters, Harvey Burch of Mcßae, James Burch of Kathleen,
Ernest Burch, La urine Burch, Christine Phillips, Mildred Powell and
Rudine Channell, all of Warner Robins; seven grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Services: Were held Thursday, April 7, 1994 in the McCullough
Funeral Home in Warner Robins at 2 p.m. Burial took place in the
Magnolia Park Cemetery also in Warner Robins. The Revs. Rastus Salter
and Kelly Pritchard officiated.
Wayne Allen Cutrell, Jr.
HOUSTON, TX.-Wayne "Allen" Cutrell, Jr., 29, passed away at his
home in Houston, Texas on Feb. 24, 1994. An honor graduate of the
University of Houston, Clear Lake, Tx. with a B.A. in Hisotry. Allen
was the owner of Serious Video Productions and was an expert in
computerized video production, including animated special effects. He was
an active member of the Sports Car Club of America and worked in the pit
crew of a friend's race car. He was an animal lover and an avid debater.
Allen was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marjorie and
Bailey Harrison of Perry and his paternal grandfather, Myron Cutrell of
Fort Valley. Survivors: mother and step-father, Emily Harrison
Bowers and Joe T. Bowers of Houston, Tx.; father and step-mother,
Wayne and Kathy Cutrell of Virginia; brother, Andy Cutrell of Houston;
grandmother, Mrs. Florence Cutrell of Fort Valley; step-sister, Ten
Bowers; step-brothers, Greg Bowers and fiancee, Anne Davis, Doug
Bowers and wife, Christy, all of Houston, Tx., Lee Bowers of Austin,
Tx., and Joe Bowers in and fiancee Susan Charron of Salt Lake City,
Utah; niece and nephew, Sarah and David Bowers of Houston; aunts and
uncles, David and Shelia Harrison of Duncanville, Tx., Karen Hartley,
Gary and Kay Cutrell, Warner Robins, Myron and Nena Cutrell, Fort
Valley, and numerous cousins and friends.
Services: Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 2, 1994
in the Clear Lake United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Burial followed at
the Forest Park East Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
James Davis Jr.
WARNER ROBINS-James Davis Jr., of 5098 South Pleasant Hill
Road, died Friday, April 1, 1994 in a local hospital. Bom in Houston
County, he was the son of the late Rosa Davis. He was a member of
Piney Grove Baptist Church and the usher board. Survivors: wife,
Louise Davis of Warner Robins; children, Carla Davis and Marilyn
Morgan, both of Elizabeth, N.J., and Earl Everson of Rochelle;
stepchildren, Diane Colbert and Robin Cobb, both of Warner Robins and
Linda Rumph of Bonaire; father, James Davis Sr. of Warner Robins;
sisters and brothers, Shirley Davis and Jeff Davis, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.,
Ruby Reeves of Fayetteville, N.C., Debbie Hilman and Dorothy Efford,
both of Warner Robins, Charles Davis of Charleston, S.C., Richard Davis
of San Mateo, Calif., Veronica Bryant of Orlando, Fla., Larry Davis of
Naples, Italy, and Elaine Davis of Perry.
Services: Will be held Saturday, April 9, 1994 in the Piney Grove
Baptist Church in Kathleen. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
The Rev. James Jamerson will officiate. The family may be contacted at
the residence of James Davis Sr., 108 Colbert Ave., Warner Robins. The
body will be placed in the church an hour before services.
Mattie Pattishall Irby
Mattie Pattishall Irby, 92, of 706 Tolleson Ave., died Thursday, April
7, 1994 at the Church Home For The Aged. Bom in Dooly County, she
was the daughter of the Phillip S. and Eula Pattishall. Mattie has resided
here most of her life and was a Baptist. She was a retired receptionist for
Weems & Amall, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abner
Irby. Survivors: two daughters, Frances Boone of Perry and Gwen
Walton of Boca Raton, Fla.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services: Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 9, 1994 at
2 p.m. The officiating clergy will be Dr. John O. Yarbrough. Burial will
take place in the Perry Memorial Gardens. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home
has charge of arrangements.

Angela N. Reid of Perry is one
of four Middle Georgia Technical
Institue students that has been
chosen as semifinalists for the
Georgia Occupational Award of
Leadership (GOAL).
Other semifinalists and their
nominating instructors are as
follows: Drafting student Norman
G. Calkins, who resides in Macon,
was nominated by William Harper,
Marketing Management student
Tiffany N. Gerstenberger, resident
of Warner Robins, was nominated
by Beth Burris; and Accounting
student Maxine A. Robinson-
Bedford, who resides in Warner
Robins was nominated by Barbara

Carolyn Farrant
The GOAL program is co
sponsored statewide by the Georgia
Chamber of Commerce and the
Georgia Department of Technical
and Adult Education. Locally,
GOAL is sponsored by the Warner

County, Pulaski/Hawkinsville and
Dooly County Chambers of
Commerce.

confidence until that time,

MGTs local GOAL winner will
have a chance to compete for the
Grand Prize of a new automobile at
the state competition in Atlanta.
The instructor who nominated the
state winner will be awarded a $250
check. Additional cash prizes will
be awarded to runners-up at the state
GOAL competition. All finalists
at the state level receive mementos
in acknowledgement of their
achievements from contributors
statewide.
The recipient of the state GOAL
medallion for 1994 will be the
student representative of technical
and adult education in Georgia over
the coming year. The GOAL
winner will address the legislative
assembly and be honored by the
Governor, in addition to
participating in events throughout
the state as a spokesperson for
technical and adult education.
