Poster campaign is a touch
of hospitality for visitors
A biz thank yon to all Pern
bosacsses who paracxpaied m the
"Welcome Poster’ campaign for die
recent Peach Blossom Cluster Dog
Show.
I am cocvincori that through a
cooperative spirit we cars cootmae
to strengthen and increase the
Bomber of participants and visitors
to events at the Agriceoaer. A link
hospitably goes, a kmg way!
We plan to continue the
"Welcome Poster’ campaign. As a
matter of fact, the posters have
already been ordered for the Reger.
12 Arabian Horse Show (May 10-
15< and the Goodgsys Dixie Classic
Rod and Custom Car Show May
21 -22 We strongly urge you to
participate ia this program. It is
much easier arc less costly to keep
established customers than to attract
new ones.
The 'Welcome Poster’ campaign
is a joint effort between the
.Agricenter. Perry .Area Con venue®
and Visitors Bureau and the Perry
Chamber of Commerce (a special
thanks to the PAC&VB and the
Chamber for distributing the
"Welcome Posters’). The posters
are meant to welcome our
Agricenter patrons to Perry,
increase public awareness of
Agricemer events and then impact
on local businesses, develop a
favorable environment to encourage
repeat customers for the Agriceaser
and Perry, and to foster and increase
hospitality in our community in
order to attract new events to the
Agrkxruer and Perry.
With all the events and people
coming to the Agncenter, Perry is
now a host community. Perry has
become a destination pome Out
of-town people attending and/or
participating in Agricenter events
are becoming a part of our
community for a short period erf
tune. They are shopping in our
stores, attending our churches,
staying in our hotels and eating in
our restaurants These visitors are a
vital pan of our community and
will impact the future growth and
dkecucxi of Perry.
By the wav, the Peach Blossom
Cluster Dog Show was a huge
success. There were more than
11,000 dog comes. That is several
thousand more than the world
famous Westminster Kennel Club
Show held in Se w York. And the
best part..they plan so return next
yew.
The Odyssey of the Mind
program last Saturday was a sight
to see. Thousands of students,
parents and teachers from
throughout the state converged on
the Agncenter to hold educational
competitions. Practically every
exhibit building and Reaves Arena
were used. If I did not know any
borer I would have thought the Fair
was going on! One of the reasons
for the establishment of the
Agncenter was to preside a place
for the youth of our scare to gather
for competitions. We are proud to
host and be a part of programs such
as this.
As I mentioned previously, *e
have two mayor events in May at
the Agncenter. The Region 12
Arabian Horse Show will bring in
about 1,000 horses. Every
available stall space will be used.
They start arming May 7 and
remain through May 15. I'm sure
you will see the owners, family
members and trainers in town
during their stay. This is a very
impressive and grand horse show. I
invite you out to the Agncenter to
see for yourself. It is free to
spectators.
The Goodguys Dixie Classic
Rod and Custom Car Show is a
very "colorful’ event. By that I
mean the color and excellent
condition of the cars. It’s a trip
back in time for many of us and fun
to see. Cars start rolling in May
19 and will be here until May 22.
Other events scheduled in May
include the Georgia Emu
Association Seminar and Trade
Show (May 7); Southern Family

Collectibles Market May 20-22);
Georgia Stare Horseshoe Pitching
Tournament (May 2*) and the

The recently dedicated
Roquemore Conference Center is
off to a great start Inquiries are
being received daily and bookings
are being made. The Roquemore
Conference Center will truly
enhance the .Agncenter and allow us
to aura; even larger events to tire
facility and Perry.
