Register Aviation’s contract with the authority as FBO was originally scheduled to end April 10, 1994. However, the agreement was extended until Sept. 10, 1994, since the authority did not have another FBO available to take over from Register. There was discussion about the airport selling gas to aviators. "The number one profit center (at an air port) is fuel," said DorsetL However, Dorsett said the au thority had to be careful about the services it provided and the services the FBO provided. "We have to cre ate the environment for the FBO to make money," he said, adding that the authority might have to allow an FBO to sell gas. r 'ie Pcrry-Houston County Air port Authority took over from the Letter from 4A can they be happy with the sorry state of affairs they face? Ms. Loudcrmilk says that a magazine article she read said that Generation X will be poorer than their parents. She apparently believes this to be true. She says that knowing she will never be as financially secure as her parents is depressing. She contends that money means more than ever, and that she works more for less and less. I would ask her to compare her starting salary to her parents starting salary. I would ask her to itemize her personal belongings and compare it to her parents list when they were her age. I am confident that she is starting off much higher on the economic ladder than they did. Yet despite all of this, Generation X demands happiness, and Generation X wants their happiness now! So Generation X has this feeling of despair. Life is missing any meaning they say. Kurt Cobain fired a shotgun into his skull, surely because of this despair, they claim. Yet Kurt Cobain had lots of money, a big mansion, fancy cars, the opportunity to travel, all the things that Ms. Loudcrmilk contends that Generation X cannot attain today. Despite all of this, he sought to end his life, leaving his wife and child behind. What was missing from Kurt Cobain's life? What is missing from Generation X’s life? For anyone that is missing any meaning to their life, I suggest that they sit down in a quiet place and discuss their life with the Lord. you say, why bring ’ religion" into this? This has nothing to do with religion, you say. I contend otherwise. If you have all the material possessions on the earth, if you have a wife, children, home, money, cars, and so forth, and yet your life remains unfulfilled, why do you think that more of that stuff will cure your malaise? In Matthew 19:16-26, Jesus told the rich, young ruler, to give away all of his possessions and follow him. The young ruler could not do it. That was 2000 years ago, and not much has changed. To all that feel that they >elong to Generation X, I point you to the Lord, Jesus Christ. We know that you are no worse off than your parents, but if you arc not better off than your parents, examine why. When we, as a people, look to the government to solve all of our problems, instead of looking inward and upward, we will continue to bounce around, unhappy with our lot in life alway looking forward to greener pastures, and we will always want more. But government is f ite, as is our time on earth. Make your decision now, while you can. Your decision is between life as lived by Kurt Cobain, with certain eternal death, or life, in the fullness of Christ, both here on Earth and in Heaven. Vert truly yours,.
