Registration is now open for
youngsters in the first through
fourth grades to enroll in the annual
4-H Sprouts Summer Camp
sponsored by the Fort Valley State
College Cooperative Extension
Program.
According the Extension
Program Leader for Youth and
Manpower Development Faye
Singh, this year's camp will be held
at Camp John Hope, June 20-24.
Each year, Singh says,
Extension holds a five-day camp to
give Middle Georgia children an
opportunity to both play and learn
the skills they need to foster their
personal growth.
They have also enjoyed learning
sessions on such topics as
leadership skills, food and nutrition,
ecology and environmental
concerns, water safety and various
4-H projects.
In addition to the camp
activities, youngsters have toured
various outdoor and historical sites
around the state, visiting Zoo
Atlanta, Macon's Freedom Park and
Tifton's Georgia Agrirama, the
Piedmont Refuge, Indian Head State
Park and Dauset Trails.
The application deadline for this
year's camp is May 27, Singh says.

registration fees and release forms,
