Eight local seniors get PC awards Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., has named eight rising seniors from Perry schools as PC Junior Fellows in recognition of superior academic merit, President Kenneth B. Orr announced today. They are: Britt Barrett, Carey L. Faircloth, Jill A. Mullins and Paul Smith, all from Perry High School. From Westfield Schools are: Rebecca Lynn Bladsoe, Sean Douglas Christy, Leslie Elaine Davis and Alfred Lawton Pearson. Students are nominated by their high schools for this prestigious award which recognizes young men and women for exceptional classroom performance. The honor carries a citation, a SSOO yearly scholarship grant to attend Presbyterian College and special consideration for other financial awards. PC Junior Fellows were recognized during the college's Junior Visitation Day on April 16. Calendar of Events May 26: Alzheimers Support Group meeting at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Perry Hospital cafeteria. There is no cost. Dr. Susan Rayboume will be the guest lecturer. May 26: The Houston County Branch of NAACP will meet at 7 p.m. at the Greater Union Baptist Church, 1006 Marion St., Perry. May 28: The Houston County Board of Elections will sponsor a voter registration drive from 12-4 p.m. at the following locations in Houston County: In Perry at the Kmart on Sam Nunn Blvd., and Revco on Main St., in Warner Robins at the Houston Mall on North Houston Rd., Wal-Mart on Watson Blvd., and Food Max on North Houston Rd. The volunteers for the Houston Mall are provided by Delta Sigma Sorority. June 4: Citizens of Elko and South Houston County will hold a Political Forum at 10 a.m. The purpose of the Political Forum will be to give citizens an opportunity to meet and question candidates running for the Post 2 position of the Houston County Comissioner race. All citizens are invited to attend. The Forum will be held at the Henderson Fire Department. Agricenter schedule May 28: Ga.
