Hundreds Of Other Great Gifts In The South's Largest Outdoor Sports Showroom
We’ve grown a lot of
trees for you in 94 years.
Wednesday, June 15, 1994 Houston Times-Journal-
meet the Governor and Mrs. Zell
Miller and to enjoy a free barbecue
dinner as well as live entertainment
featuring the Crystal River Band.
The event is being sponsored by
Crisp, Dooly and Sumter counties
with the intent of saying "thanks"
to Governor Miller for all he has
done and to remind him that area
communities will need his contin
ued support.
At Weyerhaeuser, we’ve been
growing and caring for trees
an endlessly renewable natural
resource since the beginning
of the century.
Today, trees we planted 30 to
50 years ago provide thousands
of products, from books to
building materials, that benefit
us all. Trees we plant this year
will benefit your children and
grandchildren.
Over the years, we’ve learned
a lot about growing strong,
vigorous trees, and about
caring for the environment.
We plan every step carefully
when we harvest our trees. We
build and maintain forest roads
properly. We use harvest
techniques that protect forest
soils and always have 97% of
our land growing new trees.
We leave natural vegetation
along streams to protect water
quality and to provide a diverse
habitat for wildlife.
And after harvest we promptly
replant our lands, to begin once
more the endless cycle of forest
renewal and growth.
All this adds up to responsible
forestry. And when you look at
our green, growing forests, it
shows.
