Beauty tips, advice for achieving a glowing summer tan
By: LINDA A. BRAMBILA (Merle
Norman Beauty Advisor)
What is the best type of
sunscreen to use? Is one
better than the other?
If you are going to be in the
water or participating in active
outdoor sports, a waterproof
sunscreen is ideal. Since many
men and women also need to use a
moisturizer, a convenient product to
Agricenter open ponds
to children's groups
Organized groups of children
will be able to fish once again at
the Georgia National Fairgrounds &
Agricenter during National Fishing
month in June. One of the
Agricenter's lakes, which has been
stocked with catfish, will be
available at no charge on a
reservation basis.
Organized groups include boy
and girl scouts, churches, schools,
civic clubs, etc. Fishing is open to
children only up to 16 years of age.
Each child is permitted to keep up
to 10 fish.
"This is the fourth year the
Agricenter has provided the free use
of one of its lakes to allow children
to fish," said Michael A. Froehlich,
executive director. "The Agricenter
encourages groups and clubs to
expose children to the joys of
fishing. The object is to teach
children how to fish, to respect
sound conservation practices and to
enjoy a wholesome pastime of one
of the state's many natural
resources," Froehlich added.
Sponsors arc to follow these
guidelines: supervise and assist
their group, provide all fishing gear
and bait, and provide snacks and
lunch. Restroom facilities and
picnic tables are located near the
lake.
Fishing is limited to any three
hour period during the hours of 8
a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through
Saturday during June. Please
contact the Public Affairs office at
800/987-3247 (toll-free in Georgia
only) or 912/987-3247 to schedule
your group's fishing trip.

moisturizer in one. For those who
like to fish or hunt, choosing a
sunscreen that is paba-free is also
important.
Remember to refer to the sun

corresponds to your skin's
sensitivity and to the amount of
exposure time involved.

Self-tanning products work with
your body's chemistry to create the
look of a tan on the surface of the
skin without actual exposure to the
sun. Self-tanning products do not
take the place of a sunscreen and
they do not protect you from the
damaging effects of the sun. Be
sure to follow the manufacturer's
instructions to the letter. Best
effects may be obtained by
exfoliating dead skin before
applying your self-tanner. When
you do apply, blend carefully and be
sure to wash the palms of your
hands thoroughly after each
application so that you do not have
stained hands.
