Bom in Cypress, Fla., she lived in Jacksonville, Fla., for 53 years before moving to Warner Robins. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Jacksonville and was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Edward Wilbur and Addis Alma Mae Gordy Traylor. She was the widow of Ellis Herman Copeland. Survivors: daughter, Gloria Fox Tarte of Hialeah, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Tarte of Orlando, Fla., Pamela Martin of Perry, and Melissa Hough of Dallas; and gour great-grandchildren. Services: Were held Friday, June 17, 1994, in the McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins at 11 a.m. Burial will take place Saturday, June 18, 1994, at 11 a.m. in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Plant City, Fla. The Rev. Joe Senter will officiate. Aaron Hinson DUBLIN-Aaron Hinson, 76, died Monday, June 13, 1994. Bom in Bleckley County, he was the son of the late John M. and Amanda Coody Hinson. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a house painter and was a Baptist. Survivors: children, John Junior Hinson of Cochran and Quida Faye Peek of Perry; brother, Talmadge Hinson of Cochran; eight grandchildren; and gour great grandchildren. Services: Were held Thursday, June 16, 1994 in the Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran at 11 a.m. Burial took place in the Coody Family Cemetery in Bleckley County. The Rev. C. T. Piper officiated. Philip L. Mobley Jr. THOMASVILLE, N.C.-Philip L. Mobley Jr., 17, of Thomasville, North Carolina, died Sunday, June 5, 1994 in Denton, N.C. Philip was the son of Philip L. Mobley Sr. and Hazel Sprouse Mobley. A native of Riverdale, Ga., he had attended Trinity High School and was an employee of the Feather Made Mattress Company. Survivors: mother, Hazel Sprouse Mobley of Trinity, N.C.; father, Philip L. Mobley Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Patrick Mobley of Trinity; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Sprouse of Perry; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Woodie P. Mobley Jr. of McDonough, Ga. Services: Graveside services were held Thursday, June 9, 1994 at 4 p.m. Burial took place in the Perry Memorial Gardens. The Rev. James Fennell officiated. Parrish CENTERVILLE-Oswald L. "Buck" Parrish, 69, of Centerville, died Sunday, June 12, 1994 in a local hospital. Bom in Nashville, he was the son of the late Owen Lee and Gussie Mathis Parrish. He was a retired maintenance mechanic at Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Parrish was a Baptist and a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War 11. Survivors: wife, Juanita Carr Parrish of Centerville; children, Evelyn New of Perry, Doris Chandler and Dan Parrish, both of Kathleen; sister and brothers, Reba Nell Carr of Macon, Gene Parrish of Byron and William Parrish of Adel; and three grandchildren. Services: Were held Thursday, June 16, 1994 in the McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins at 10 a.m. Burial took place in the Oakridgc Cemetery in Tifton. Henry Grady Taylor KATHLEEN-Henry Grady Taylor, 70, of 402 Sandefur Rd., died Wednesday, June 8, 1994, in a local hospital. Bom in Wilkes County, he as the son of the late William Otis Taylor and the late Mary Katherine Echols Taylor. He was the widower of Geraldine Shields Taylor. He as an aircraft mechanic at Robins Air Force Base. He had attended Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cochran and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War 11. Survivors: children, William Otis Taylor of Kathleen, Nancy Bradford of Waleska, Anita Williams of Harlem, Mary Katherine Morillo of Grayson and Beverly L. Holmes of Augusta; brother and sister, Charles Edward Taylor of Commerce and Mary Huff of Washington; and nine grandchildren. Services: Were held Friday, June 10, 1994, in the McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins at 10 a.m. Burial took place in the Magnolia Park Cemetery. The Rev. Alex Horton officiated. Jo Elise Mathews Davis Jo Elise Mathews Davis, of 1100 Tucker Road, died Wednesday, June 15, 1994 in the Emory Llniversity Hospital in Atlanta. Bom in Crawford County, she was the daughter of the late Joel Mathews and Irene Rowland Mathews. She was married to Clarence O. Davis, and was a retired secretary/bookkeeper for George C. Nunn & Son. She had resided here most of her life, and was a member of the Susannah Wesley Sunday School class and a member of the Perry United Methodist Church and a member of the Vesta Club. Survivors: husband, Clarence O. Davis of Perry; three sons, Joel C. Davis of Fort Valley, Ronnie J. Davis of Saranac, N.Y., and Ken R. Davis of Paducah, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services: Will be held Sunday, June 19, 1994, in the Perry United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. The Rev. Carter Berkeley will officiate. Burial will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. PUBLIC HEARING The Houston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at a special Commissioners meeting to be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 1994 at the Houston County Annex, 200 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia, for the purpose of hearing written and oral comments from the public concerning the proposed annual budget for fiscal year 1994-95. A copy of the proposed budget is available for public inspection at the Commissioner’s Office in Warner Robins, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I The actual Fiscal Year 94-95 budget will be formally adopted at the regular Houston County Commissioners meeting to be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 1994 at the Perry City Hall in Perry, Georgia. Yoder, the son of Dwayne and Virginia Yoder of Perry, recently graduated as a clinical male nurse from the medical service training wing at Lackland AFB In San Antonio, Tx. Medical Service Specialist Yoder is a 1993 graduate of Perry High School. Cargill, Quick Start sponsor training program at MGTI Officials of Cargill signed an agreement on Tuesday, June 14 with Georgia Quick Start and Middle Georgia Technical Institute finalizing a comprehensive training program. Under the terms of the agreement, Middle Georgia Tech and Georgia Quick Start will provide training to approximately 400 Cargill employees. With a capital investment of S3B million, Cargill will begin production in 1994 of Poultry Products in a 160,000 square foot facility located on 80 acres in Dooly County. The company will employ approximately 450 people by the end of the year and expects to produce, when at full capacity, between 1.5 million and 1.7 million pounds of Poultry Products per week. John Folger, General Manager of the Dooly County facility, states that the training provided to the company through the Quick Start program was an important factor for consideration when Cargill officials were evaluating areas for a plant site. Mourning joins Army through DE Program Brian A. Mourning, son of Rick and Darlene Lowe of Perry, recently enlisted in the U.S. Army's Delayed Entry Program (DEP) and will report for active duty July 8,1994. The Perry High School graduate will take basic and advanced individual training at Fort Benning, Ga. He has chosen the position of Infantry as his military occupational specialty and has volunteered to serve a three-year tour of duty. Staff Sgt. Rice of the Warner Robins Army recruiting station assisted Mourning in his enlistment. •Certificates were awarded to Honors Program graduates includ ing Tara Faircloth of Perry, Shanna Hutchinson of Bonaire, Lori Denis Sutton of Perry. Bishop reports blood drive held at CB&T was a success According to Gary Bishop, 8 people donated blood at the Tuesday, June 14 blood drive held in Perry, which resulted in netting 75 pints of blood. Bishop, who was chairman of the drive, stated, "To have a suc cessful blood drive during the summer months is really a huge undertaking; and once again, a number of Perry residents responded to the need of a critical shortage of donated blood." There were several individuals that led the way in sign ups for the drive and a special thanks goes to Laura Smith, Sandra Garza, Belinda Baker and Dr. Horatio Cabasares. The blood drive would not have been successful without the partici pation of a number of local busi nesses that encouraged their em ployees to participate in the drive. Those businesses were The Bank of Perry, CB&T Bank, Crossroads Band, Trust Company Bank, the Georgia Agricenter, Dr. Michael Quick Start is a state-wide program administered through the Department of Technical and Adult Education that is designed to promote the economic development of Georgia by providing tailor-made training for the employees of new or expanding companies in the state. The actual training is administered by the technical institute in the area where the company is locating. Services to be provided include home management and parenting skills education, support and outreach.
