Some very special volun teers, dubbed the I m M as I Using natural products for healthcare Are you aware that in the U.S.A. more than 16,000 people die annually from adverse drug reactions? These are deaths due to legal drugs, legally obtained by prescriptions and used with good medical intentions. Thomas Edison once said, “If all the medication in the world were thrown in the ocean it would be a good day for man, but a bad day for the fish.” Conditions such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. are so prevalent in this country, have you considered preventive natural healthcare? Herbs used for medical treatment and plants used for food have two kinds of qualities: first, the quality that is associated with their life force; and second, their chemical constituents and vitamin and enzyme content. When a plant or animal dies, the life force departs from it and it deteriorates according to the laws of physical chemistry. It is next invaded by bacteria which eventually decompose it. When used as medicinal substances, herbs have two types of action: the “life” one and the chemical one. They are therefore better than tablets for which the active principle has been chemically extracted. This isolation is the reason why drugs often have a toxic effect. When a drug exists in a plant, it is only one of the many substances with a similar action and the plant often has other substances which balance the action of any one substance and therefore prevent the bad effects. These toxic effects of the drug are the result of breaking the Greek idea of “nothing too much." Look into herbs for preventive healthcare. Eli Lily, a major drug manufacturer says. "A drug without side effects is no drug at all." What a shame. Perry Exchange Club cancels July 7 meeting There will be no meeting of the Perry Exchange Club next Thurs day. July 7. Arledge stated that the volunteers did a wonderful job creating the colorful banners that will set the mood for celebration in Heritage Hall . . . celebrating Georgia's youth and the Georgia National's fifth anniversary. "Exhibits in Heritage Hall will be exceptional this year with the expansion of the beekeeper's ex hibit, a new Georgia Centennial Farm exhibit, and enhanced Christmas Tree Growers' exhibits and events. Be sure to put Heritage Hall on your must-see list this year," Arledge said. Perry Now hiring enthusiastic , energetic, positive minded people in the following positions.
