WESMKLt Hobo Day at Autumn Terrace The staff and residents at Autumn Terrace held their annual Hobo Day on July 14. Pictured are hobos Norma Holby, Edna Melvin, Dorothy Gary, Aubrey Taylor, Bessie Holmes, Kay Ferry, Melissa Davis, Denise Jones and Audrey Stock. Residents were entertained with songs and dances performed by the staff and all enjoyed snacks of moon pies, sardines and soda crackers, potato chips and soda. The event was enjoyed by all. Workers needed for flood recovery State Labor Commissioner David Poythress has announced that the hiring of temporary workers for the clean up and repair of the flood ravaged areas of Georgia will begin early next week. Anyone can begin registering for work immediately at any office of the Georgia Department of Labor. Poythress applied to the U.S. Department of Labor for a sl2 million grant to hire workers to help in the recovery effort. $4 million has already been approved, with the remaining $8 million expected to be approved later. The money will be used to hire people who are out of work as a direct result of the flood and the long-term unemployed to help clean up after the flood subsides and to repair public facilities.
