Woodroe Wilson Jarrell
BUTLER-Woodroe Wilson Jarrell, 82, of Butler, died Monday, July 18,
1994 at his residence. Bom in Taylor County, he was the son of the late
Talmadge D. and Evelyn Gaultney Jarrell. He was a businessman and was
city clerk of Butler from 1972 to 1981 and an administrator until 1982.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Butler. Survivors: sons,
Talmadge D. Jarrell of Albany and Jerry Jarrell of Mars Hill, N.C.;
brother and sisters, Raeford Jarrell of Metter, Bess Windham of Fairbum,
Grace Hicks of Perry and Emily Andrews of Washington; and eight
grandchildren.
Services: Were held Thursday, July 21, 1994 in the Butler City
Cemetery at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Boyd and Mr. Norman Carter
officiated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the
Butler Public Library.
Antrawn Bonyetz Johnson
Antrawn Bonyetz Johnson, 10, of 1506 State Ave., died Saturday, July
16, 1994 in Irwin County. Bom in Houston County, he was a fourth
grade pupil at Morningsidc Elementary School. He was a member of New
Hope Baptist Church in Perry, where he sang in the youth choir.
Survivors: parents, Freddie Lester Jr. and Charlean Johnson, both of
Perry; brother, Adrian Johnson of Perry; stepsister and stepbrother,
Shonda Allen and Edward Carswell, both of Perry; maternal grandfather,
Willie James Johnson of Perry. Antrawn will be sadly missed by all his
family and friends.
Services: Were held Friday, July 26, 1994 in the New Hope Baptist
Church at 4 p.m. Burial took place in the Rest Haven Cemetery. The
Rev. Dennis Harden officiated. Richardson Funeral Home in Perry had
charge of arrangements.

Library sets new programs

Becky Yeatman, Children's Specialist at Perry Library, has announced
two more special programs for children during Summer Reading Club.
On Wednesday, June 27, Mr. Jesse McCurdy will bring his honeybee
demonstration hive to share. On Wednesday, August 3, Cliff Patton,
Magician and Ventriloquist, will bring his little friend, Skeeter, to enter
tain Summer Reading Club patrons. Both programs are at 10 a.m.
Tuesday is Storytime Day this summer, at 10 a.m. for preschoolers three
to five years; at 10:45 a.m. for school age patrons. A "Back to School
Film Fest" is scheduled for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Aug. 9,-10 and 16-
17. Regular Preschool Storytime resumes Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug.
23-24.
Registration for the first Toddler Time series is now open. Registration
must be in person at the library and is on a first-come, first-served basis,
with priority given to children already two years old. Children as young as
18 months may be added to a series as space permits. This is a beginning
library group program for our youngest ones and their participating adults.

More than 500 children and teens are registered for the ITZAREADER
Summer Reading Club. More than half will have earned recognition cer
tificates which they may display and share at home and school. Local
businesses and groups have donated some of the treats the readers receive;
volunteers have provided some of the programs. The children have provided
decorations for the library by writing the titles of the books they read on
strips to make "Winners' Circles Reading Chain”. Readers have through
Saturday, July 30, to register and all readers have until Aug. 31 to bring
their folders in to receive their treats and certificates.

Dooly Campmeeting convenes
Sunday, July 24, 1994 underneath
the historic open air tabernacle at
Dooly Campground which is
located three miles northwest of
Vienna just off Highway 90.
Morning and evening worship
services will be conducted each day
through Friday, July 29.
Guest evangelist for the week
will be the Rev. Ben Williams who
is a member of the South Georgia
Conference of the United Methodist
Church and has served pastorates in
several locations.
Scott Hearn who presently
serves as minister of music a the
Ashburn United Methodist Church
will lead the song services and
provide special music.
Services are planned for 11 a.m.
and 8 p.m. daily Sunday through
Friday. A noon meal will be
provided for ministers and out-of
county visitors by local area
churches.
Americus District churches have
been asked to sponsor attendance for
the different evening services, but
everyone in the area is invited to
attend.
A youth camp will be conducted
in conjunction with Campmeeting.
Young people from throughout the
district will participate in a variety
of learning, worshipful and
recreational experiences in addition
to attending and taking part in the
campmeeting services.

came to Robins Air Force Base
prior to 1950, will meet at the
Officers Club at Robins Air Force
Base at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday,
July 28, for a Dutch Treat luncheon
