High school students
to select Grad course
High school students will have
to choose either a college
preparatory or a vocational/applied
technology path to high school
graduation beginning with ninth
graders in fall 1995. The State
Board of Education Thursday
adopted Stale Superintendent
Werner Rogers' recommendation
that the high school program be
stmegthened by eliminating the
general track as a high school
program of study.
“This change raises academic
standards for every high school
student effective in fall 1995,” said
Rogers. “It will ensure that each
student’s course work is focused and
goal oriented and that all our
graduates leave high school with
the skills they need to succeed in
life.”
