Angela Michele Rowland
Rowland to wed Conner
in August 27 ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Stokes
announce the engagement of her
daughter, Angela Michele Rowland
to Mr. Thomas Wesley Conner, Jr.
of Hawkinsville.
The bride-elect is the daughter of
the late Jeny C. MeCommons and
the granddaughter of Mrs. Sally
Daniel and the late Mr. Neal
Brightwell MeCommons, all of
Hawkinsville. She is the
granddaughter of Ms. Lillian
Rowland of Warner Robins and the
late Mr. Fred Watson Rowland of
Cordele.
Miss Rowland is a 1988 graduate
of Perry High School and will
continue studying at Macon
College this fall majoring in
English Education. She is
employed at Impressions in Perry
and is a member of the Intemati :aai
City Church of God in Warner

Angela Denise Huff
Huff, McCormick announce
plans for Aug. 13 wedding
Angela Denise Huff and Joe
Harvey McCormick Jr. have
announced their plans to be married
on Saturday, August 13, 1994 in
the Harvest Cathedral Church in
Macon.
Angela is the daughter of Mr.
Larry Huff of Warner Robins and
Mrs. Yvonne H. Abney of Macon
and the granddaughter of Mrs.
Margaret Harden of Macon and the
late Mr. Ryal Harden of Macon,
Mrs. Ha/cl H. Huff of Hayncvillc
and the late Mr. Thomas Huff. She
is a Graduate of Northeast High
Robins.
The groom-elect is the son of
Alice Conner Young and the late
Thomas W. (Buster) Conner, Sr. of
Hawkinsville. He is the grandson
of Mrs. Hildred R. Conner and the
late Mr. G. W. Conner of
Hawkinsville and the late Mr. and
Mrs. P. G. Mims of Tifton.
Mr. Conner is a 1982 graduate of
Baker Academy, a 1984 graduate of
Abraham Baldwin Agricultural
College, and a 1990 graduate of
Georgia Southwestern College
where he received a BBA degree in
Business Management. He is self
employed and an employee of the
Pulaski Stockyards in
Hawkinsville.
The wedding is planned for
Saturday, August 27, 1994 at the
First Baptist Church in
Hawkinsville.
School and is a graduate of Auburn
University with a BA in Liberal
Arts. Her memberships and honors
were the 1984 Macon
Representative to Europe and Japan.
Angela is employed as an Account
Executive with the United Parcel
Service in Alabama
Joe is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Joe and Clara McCormick Sr. He
graduated from Opelika High
School in Alabama and attended
Southern Union Jr. College where
he earned his U.S.M.C. degree. Joe
is a Police Officer in Auburn.
Lancaster weds Dykes in May 14 ceremony
Miss Brenda Gay Lancaster and
Mr. James Heath Dykes were united
in marriage on Saturday, May 14,
1994 at the First United Methodist
Church in Hawkinsville. Reverend
Lanier Beasley and Dr. Glenn
Martin performed the impressive
ceremony in the presence of a large
number of family and friends.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Lancaster of
Hawkinsville. The groom’s parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Alton Dykes of
Hawkinsville.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Dent and the late Mr.
and Mrs. Albert R. Lancaster of
Hawkinsville. The groom’s
grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. A. T.
Dykes and Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Watson, all of Cochran.
Dr. Charles Robertson and Mrs.
Vicki Martin presented an organ and
piano prelude prior to the service
which included, “Savior Like a
Shepherd Lead Us” in memory of
the brides deceased grandparents.
During the ceremony special music
was presented by Mr. and Mrs.
Freddy Hogg which included “There
is Love", “I Cross My Heart" and
as a closing prayer, "May the
Presence of the Father Be With
You."
The sanctuary was decorated with
a brass arch tree and spiral
candlelarbars with white tapers.
Ferns completed the altar setting.
The groom selected his brother,
Capt. Derrick Dykes of Moore,
Ok., as his best man. Usher
groomsmen were: Marc Martin,
Seaborn Crosby, Curtis Coody, and
Heath Bass, all of Hawkinsville,
Tracy Mays of Bonaire, Todd Black
of Warner Robins and Kevin Parker
of Baxley. Junior groomsman was
Kyle Whitaker, cousin of the bride.
They each wore a black Pierre
Cardin tuxedo with ivory sweetheart
rose boutonniere.
Mrs. Lisa Dykes, sister-in-law of
the groom, served as a matron of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss
Monica Martin of Hawkinsville,
Miss Dawn Mincey of Statesboro,
Mrs. Ranell Mays, God-sister of
the groom, of Bonaire, and Miss
Angie Hudson of Jacksonville, Fla.
“It is out of care and concern for your family’s
growth and mine that I want to serve as

Miss Tabitha Johnson of
Centerville, cousin of the bride,
served as junior bridesmaid.
The attendants wore tea-length
gowns featuring a floral brocade
bodice with sweetheart neckline, V
shaped waist and short overlay bell
capped sleeves. The skirts were of
green moire silk. As a contrast, the
Matron of Honor and Junior
Bridesmaid’s skirt were ivory moire
silk. They each carried arm
bouquets of mauve alstroemerias,
white miniature carnations and
baby’s breath accented with ivory
ribbon.
The bride was escorted to the altar
by her father and given in marriage
by both her mother and father. The
bride wore an elegant gown
designed by Victoria’s Bridals. The
bodice was made of ivory bridal
taffeta and alencon lace which
featured a scalloped V-neckline. It
was heavily embellished with hand
re-embroidered french alencon lace
that was hand-beaded with
irridescent sequins and small pearls
on her jacket Her courage was of
candlelight sweetheart roses.
The groom’s mother, Mrs.
Vickie Dykes, chose a two-piece
coral linen dress which featured a
sweetheart neckline. She wore a
wrist courage of candlelight
sweetheart roses.
A reception was held in the
church social hall. Miss Mitzi
Martin presided at the bride’s book
table. The area was beautifully
decorated with tables overlaid with
Army-Navy cloths.
The floral centerpiece featured a
mixed arrangement of spring
flowers in a silver compote.
Similar arrangements were used
throughout the room. The piano
held a special floral arrangement
with four lighted candles each one
in memory of deceased family
members of the bride. Beautiful
lattice screens intertwined with ivy
were used throughout the reception
area as focal points for the
wonderfully prepared food.
The four tiered w edding cake was
adorned with roses, Roman
columns and topped with
complementing spring flowers.

Miss Lisa Guy and Miss Christina
Fly served the wedding cake.
The groom's cake was a two
tiered chocolate cake adorned with a
miniature deer and greenery. It was
made by Mrs. Nell Mixon,
Godmother of the groom. Serving
were Mrs. Stephanie Black and Ms.
Cynthia Fowler.
Miss Christy Adams and Mrs.
Melissa Cape served punch from
the silver punch bowl surrounded
by lillies, carnations and greenery.
Music was performed by Mrs.
Vicki Martin as the guest greeted
Mr. and Mrs. James Heath Dykes

Mrs. Carolyn Ragan, aunt of the
bride, directed the wedding.
Miss Ashley Johnson and Miss
Amy Whitaker, cousins of the
bride, carried baskets with birdseed
which was given to the guests as
the bride and groom were preparing
to leave.
For traveling, the bride chose a
two-piece outfit with a green skirt
and designed sweater.
After the wedding trip to Cancun,
Mexico, the couple is residing in
Perry.
