The sky was empty except for the small, single-engine plane called “The Spirit of St. Louis.” Charles Lindbergh, the pilot, had just departed Roosevelt Field and was attempting to cross the Atlantic Ocean. His destination was northern France. Armed only with a chart, compass and sextant, he battled fog, sleet and storms until he finally reached his destination and landed the next day at Le Bouget Field near Paris. The historical flight, however, was not an easy one. Lindbergh was thrown off course many times due to weather and unexpected conditions, but he continued to make changes and get back on course. The success of his flight was found in his ability to stay on course. Your life can be likened to a journey, and the success of it depends on how well you stay on course. Has your life become a detour into bad habits and attitudes, or has it stayed on course? Have you allowed wrong priorities and motives to change your life’s direction? Are you still on the path toward becoming more like Christ every day? Perhaps we all need to follow the example of Charles Lindbergh. If your life has gotten off course, why not make some mid-flight corrections? Why not make some adjustments in your family or accomplished pianist, live in Perry.
