Farm Bureau will assist
needy by giving goods
Houston County Farm Bureau
has the following items available
for those who have an immediate
need: laundry soap, dish liquid,
non-perishable food items, soaps/
toiletry items, rubber gloves and
buckets. Brooms, mops, cleaning
supplies and other miscellaneous
items are in route.

GSP releases July,
accident, arrest figures
The Georgia State Patrol in
Perry announced today that 12
traffic accidents in Houston County
were investigated during the month
of July. These accidents resulted in
IS injuries and no deaths.
In the area of enforcement by
Post 15, Sergeant First Class K.W.
Hancock said his officers had made
302 arrests and issued 203 warnings
during the month.
Various courts in Houston
County disposed of 570 pending
traffic cases during the month with
the following: 355 guilty pleas,
197 bond forfeitures, one case
dismissed, no cases no record, and
17 nolo contendre pleas. Sergeant
Hancock explained that cases and
arrests would seldom be the same
number for each month because
some cases are carried over into the
next month to coincide with court
dates.
He also pointed out that fines
and forfeitures amounted to
$67,845.35 for the month of July
which was paid to the courts of
Houston County.
'Gong Show 1 is planned
Aug. 26 at Northside
“The Gong Show” sponsored by
the Central Georgia Board of
Realtors will be held Friday,
August 26, 1994 at the Ray Home
Theater at Northside High School,
Greent Street, in Warner Robins.
This variety show is being held at 8
p.m., and proceeds will go to the
flood victims and area charities.
Tickets are $5 per person and may
be purchased from your local
realtor, the Board of Realtors office
in Warner Robins, or at the door.
'Junk' can be beneficial
to Kidney Foundation
The National Kidney Foundation
of Georgia is searching for your
junk- car, that is. Anyone having
an old automobile that needs
removing is asked to call 1-800-
633-2339 (Ext. 25) to make your
tax-deductable contribution for the
more than 700 Georgians awaiting
a kidney transplant.
Support Group to meet
Aug. 18 at local ward
The Alzheimer’s Support Group
will meet on Thursday, Aug. 18, at
the Perry Hospital Cafeteria from 7-
9 p.m.
Call Eddie at 987-4364 for
additional information.
The group meets on the 3rd
Thursday of every month.
TLC center to open
preschool program
TLC Learning Center for pre
schoolers, located at 601 Hillcrest
Avenue (across from Tucker
Elementary School), will start
September 5,1994. Children, ages
6 weeks to 12 years of age are
accepted.
Pre-school care is for 3 and 4
year olds - 3 year olds on Monday
and Wednesday mornings from 9 to
12 noon; 4 year olds on Tuesday
and Thursday mornings from 9 to
12 noon.
Children who are enrolled in the
full-time care program are eligible
to participate in Pre-School at No
Additional Charge.
Child care is available from 6:30
a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through
Friday. Before and after school care
and part-time care is available.
Drop-ins are welcome.
