after a $2,000 homestead exemp
tion; a person owning $50,000 in
real estate, $186.66; a person own
ing $25,000, $82.96; and a person
owning a piece of real estate worth
SIO,OOO, $20.94. With a homestead
exemption only, a $5,000 piece of
real estate would carry no tax.
In addition to paying county
taxes, county residents will also
have to pay school and state taxes.
The school millage rate will be set
at 12.87 mills, with an additional
one mill tax to pay off school
bonds. The state charges a tax rate
of .25 mills, for a total county rate
of 24.49 mills for city residents and
26 49 mills for rural residents.
Civilian Wives' Club to
host membership tea
The Civilian Wives’ Club of
Warner Robins will sponsor a
membership tea on September 6, at
10 a.m., at the Flint Electric
building. All eligible members and
guests are invited to attend. A
musical program is planned.
All wives and widows of Civil
Service employees, wives or
widows of retired Civil Service
personnel, and women Civil
Service employees (active or retired)
are eligible for membership. Dues
are $5.00 per year.
