Police report
(The following items are
incident reports from the
Perry Police Department for
the period Aug. 31-Sept. 5)
Woman bitten
Mary Gray, of 615 Smith Dr.,
complained to police on Aug. 31
that she was bitten by another
female after being accused of selling
drugs.
Suspended license
Andrew Garcia Picanco, of a
Canada address, was arrested for
speeding and driving with a
suspended license on Aug. 31 at
8:05 p.m. He was arrested by the
Georgia State Patrol and transported
to the Perry Police Department.
Harassing calls
Diane Ridley, of 1208 Kings
Circle, complained to police Aug.
31 at 3:52 p.m. that she had been
receiving harassing telephone calls.
Fuel stolen
Sarah Neal, an employee of
Zeb's Zip In, located at 105
Marshallville Rd., told police that
someone left the store Aug. 31 at
8:30 p.m. without paying for $7
worth of fuel.
Aggravated assault
Maurice Davis, of 1323 Spring
St., complained to police Aug. 30
at 6:30 p.m. that he was the victim
of aggravated assault at a 1207
Washington St. address.
Car entered
Clifford Holmes, of 209 King
Dr., told police that sometime
between 10:55 a.m. and 12:05 p.m.
on Aug. 31 that someone had
entered his 1994 Honda Accord
without permission while it was
parked at 1307 North Ave.
Typewriter, sign stolen
Nina Albright, of 600 Langley
Ave., told police that someone
stole a Royal electric typewriter and
an Bxlo Budlite mirror valued at
$215 from her residence sometime
between Aug. 23 and Aug. 31 at
10:33 a.m.
Auto entered
Beverly Sendek, an employee of
K-Mart, told police that someone
had entered her automobile while it
was parked at that location
sometime between Aug. 24 and
Aug. 31.
Public drunkeness
Ronnie Brown, of 218 Floyd
St., was arrested by police Sept. 1
at 6:55 p.m. after being seen
consuming an alcoholic beverage
while standing in front of the
Suwanee Swifty on Courtney
Hodges Blvd. He was charged with
drinking, drunkenness and
intoxication.
Criminal trespass
Tommie Strowder, of 1214
W.F. Ragin Dr., complained to
police on Sept. 1 at 11:38 p.m.
that someone had came onto her
property without permission.
Mower stolen
William Murphy, of 1023-B
Commerce St., told police that
sometime between 8 a.m. and 6:15
p.m. on Sept. 1 someone had
stolen a lawnmower from his
residence.
Theft
Reginald M. Canady, of 1214
W.F. Ragin Dr. told police that
someone had committed a theft at
that address on Sept. 1 at 9:11 p.m.
Auto recovered
Perry Police recovered an
abandoned 1981 Buick Regal in the
Village Shops parking lot on Sept.
2 at 6:10 a.m. The auto was
reported to be stolen from a
location in Clearwater, Fla.
Girlfriend won't leave
Johnny Alford, of 1115
Creekwood Dr., complained to
police Sept. 2 at 8:30 a.m. that his
ex-girlfriend was trespassing on his
property and refused to leave his
residence.
Gun pointed

Ragin Dr., told police that a man
he knew pointed a gun at him while
at that address on Sept. 2 at about 9
a.m.
Windows broken
Tommie Strowder, of 1214
W.F. Ragin Dr., told police on
Sept. 2 that sometime between
9:40-9:50 a.m. someone had broken
out windows on his 1977 Ford
LTD Landau.
Items stolen
Diana Logan, of 715 Mason
Terrace Rd., told police that
sometime between Aug. 28 and
Sept. 2 at 10:24 p.m. someone had
stolen various items from her
apartment. No sign of entry was
visible.
Theft by taking
Harold Greene, of 800 Main St.,
told police that sometime between
Aug. 17 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 2 at
6:09 p.m. it was discovered that
someone had taken items from the
New Perry Hotel.
Drinking, drunkenness
Edna M. Felder, of 925 Elko
Rd., was arrested Sept. 2 at 3:46
p.m. after trying to cross Gen.
Courtney Hodges Blvd. while
intoxicated. The woman also had in
her possession a small plastic bag
with marijuana. She was charged
with drinking, drunkenness,
intoxication, and possession of
marijuana (less than 1 ounce)
Simple battery
Fannie Kendrick, of 707-A
Patterson St., complained to police
that she was the victim of an
alledged assault on Sept. 3 between
2:30-4 p.m.
Driving intoxicated
Joseph David Cartre, of a Florida
address, was charged with driving
under the influence after he was
stopped for speeding on Sept. 3 at
8:32 p.m.
Cash stolen
Tracey Jackson, of 615 Smith
Dr., told police that sometime
between Sept. 1 at 4:30 p.m. and
Sept. 4 at 9:04 p.m. someone had
stolen $250 in cash from his
residence.
Simple battery
Robert H. Beckworth Jr., of
7180 Houston Rd., told police he
was the victim of a simple battery
on Aug. 5 while at the Georgia
Agricenter at about 9:50 p.m.
Window broken
Price Bryant, of 307 Old Vienna
Rd., told police that while he was
at K-Mart someone had broken out
a window on his 1994 Dodge Ram.
No items were reported taken.
Simple battery
Douglas Stewart, Jr., of 419
Williams Dr., told police that he
had been in a fight at that address
on Sept. 5 at 11:22 p.m.. He was
treated and released at the Perry
Hospital.
Fuel stolen
Michelle Jackson, an employee
of Race Trac, told police that
someone had left that 1515 .Sam
Nunn Blvd. location on Sept. 5 at
12:55 p.m. without paying for
$12.65 worth of fuel.
Arrested on warrant
James C. Sutton, of 615 Smith
Dr., was stopped by police on Sept.
5 at 2:41 p.m. for a violation of a
child belt law. A further check
showed that the man was wanted for
an open warrant from the Houston
County Sheriffs Dept.
Cocaine possession
Maurice Jerome Daniels, of
1323 W.F. Ragin Dr., was arrested
by police Sept. 5 for possession of
cocaine with the intent to distribute
and possession of marijuana (less
than 1 ounce). Police were initially
called to Rosenwall St/Howard St.
in reference to a disturbance.
Probation violation
Cassandra Ridley, of 615 Smith
Dr., was arrested for a probation
violation by police on Sept. 5.

'Making A Point...'
Kelly Henderson (left) and Kelly Hammock signs a
petition Saturday at K-Mart here. The petition was
started by a parent's group in reference to what they
call "unfair" school zoning in Houston County. A
majority of residents south of Hwy. 96 feel like the
school board should rethink their plans to construct
two new middle schools in the northern end of the
county. The group collected more than 300 signatures
this past weekend, and needs a total of 2,000
signatures to go forward with possible legal action.
Club seeks leaders' for exchange
The Perry Rotary Club is seeking
business and professional leaders
from the local area to visit
Indonesia from April 22 through
May 22, 1995 as part of the Group
Study Exchange Program of the
Rotary Foundation.
The program strives to improve
international understanding by en
abling people from different coun
tries to learn from each other by ex
changing teams of business and
professional persons for four to six
week visits.
While abroad, team members ob
serve their host's way of life and
learn the nation's economic, social,
and cultural characteristics through
travel and discussions within partic
