Flu campaign
set Sept. 26
The 1994 Hu Campaign will be
conducted in Houston County from
September 26 through December
16, 1994.
The Houston County Health
Department is conducting the
campaign, and believes it is
important that every adult member
of our community understands (1)
the importance of influenza
vaccination and (2) knows where
these vaccinations will be available.
Each year many people become
seriously ill or die as a result of
complications from flu.
The virus expected this year is
very similar to the strains of last
year. Since immunity lastf less
than a year, die immunization you
received last year will not protect
you this year. You will need to be
immunized some time between
September 26 and December 16,
1994.
The cost for the flu shot this
year from the Houston County
Health Department will be $5.00.
Medicare payments will be
accepted. The cost of the
pneumonia shot will be SIO.OO and
will only be available at the health
department offices. No one will
be denied the shot because of
inability to pay. We have
ordered sufficient flu vaccine to
meet the needs of our county.
