Wednesday, October 12,1994, Houston Times-Journal Page 2A Death notices Johnnie Holland MACON-Johnnie Holland, 80, of Macon, died Friday, Oct. 7, 1994. Bom in Houston County, be was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steve Holland. He was a retired employee of the Southern Crate & Veneer Co. He was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church for 55 years and was a former chairman of the Deacon Board. He was the widower of Ruth Holland. Survivors: sons, Nathaniel Holland of Macon and Johnnie King of Tifton; sister, Mary Lee Shewmaker of Apopka, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Services: Will be held Friday, Oct. 14, 1994 in the St. Luke Baptist Church at 3 pan. Burial will take place in the Moseley Cemetery. The Rev. Marshall Stenson will officiate. The family may be contacted at the residence of Nathaniel Holland, 200 Mosley Ave., Macon. Hutchings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Dorothy Davis Houser MACON-Dorothy Davis Houser, 84, of Macon, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994. A fifth-generation native of Macon, she was the daughter of the late J. LaFayette and Mary Belle Davis. She was married to Dr. Frank Millard Houser for 55 years. She was a 1932 graduate of The University of Georgia, receiving a degree in physical education. She returned to Macon to teach secondary school. She was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church and the Ed Cook Sunday School Class for more than 60 years. She spearheaded and participated in a number of committees. She was a member of the Garden Club of Shirley Hills, the Macon History Club and Phi Mu Fraternity. She was a lifelong member of Idle Hour Country Club, where she played golf until the time of her death. Survivors: husband, Dr. Frank Millard Houser of Macon; children, Mary Anne Shipley of Perry, Frank M. Houser Jr. and John D. Houser, both of Atlanta; brother, M. DuQuince Davis of Macon; and 11 grandchildren. Services: Were held Saturday, Oct. 8, 1994 in the Vineville United Methodist Church at 11 am. Burial took place in the Riverside Cemetery. The Revs. Carter Berkeley and James E. Shipley officiated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Vineville United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2045 Vineville Ave., Macon 31204. Hart’s Mortuary had charge of arrangements. Herman George Robertson GROVANIA-Herman George Robertson died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1994. Bom in Houston County, he was the son of the late George and Alberta Robertson. He was a member of Free Providence Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Helen Robertson of Grovania; children, Bula Robertson, Brenda Robertson, Thelma Durham, Phylis Robertson, Helen Ann Miller, Carrie Ann Gray, Ernest G. Robertson, Sam Robertson, Felton Robertson and Michael Robertson, all of Grovania, Leslie Robertson and Michael Robertson, both of Warner Robins, Ray Robertson of Miami, Lewis Harris of Elko and Peggy Askew of Perry; sisters, Maria Releford and Vemita Gilbert, both of Grovania and Maggie Rounds of Perry; 45 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Myrtle Louise Rowe Rawlins Myrtle Louise Rowe Rawlins, 88, of 1106 Kings Chapel Rd., died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 1994 in a local hospital. Bom in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late William and Zadie McCroskey Rowe. She was the widow of Sanuel M. Rawlins Sr. She lived in Gwinnett County most of her life and had lived in Perry more than three years. She was a member of Grayson United Methodist Church. She was a self-employed interior designer. Survivors: two sons, Dr. George Rawlins of Perry, and Sam Rawlins Jr. of Dunwoody; sisters and brother, Irene Graham of Perry, Nylic Radford of Braselton, and Luke Rowe of Stone Mountain; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services: Were held Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994 in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Grayson at 2 p.m. The Rev. Tom Rowe officiated. Watson- Hunt Funeral Home in Perry had charge of arrangements. Russell Clark Sr. Russell Clark Sr., 79, of 513 Betty St., died Thursday, Sept. 29, 1994 in a local hospital. Bom in Houston County, he was the son of the late Russell and Leola Barrett Clark. He was a member of Mathis Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was self-employed in the pulp wood trade. Survivors: children, Miriam Fluellen of Fort Valley, John D. Brown of Kathleen, Mary Lou Ferguson of Atlanta, Valma Johnson, Russell Clark Jr. and Mamie Lee McCray, all of Miami, Fla.,, Henry Lee Clark, Emily Myrick and Clora Reaves, all of Vineland, N.J.; sister and brother, Susie Mae Harris of Marshallville and William Clark Sr, of Fort Valley; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: Were held Monday, Oct 3, 1994 in the Mathis Chapel Baptist Church at 1 p.m. in Perry. Burial took place in the Belvin AME Church Cemetery in Macon County. The Rev. Oscar Small officiated. Johnson of Perry Hospital, 1120 Morningside Dr., Perry, Ga. has been recognized by The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy for completion of a week-long Postgraduate Pharma cokinetics Workshop, held in Athens. Slots for this program are limited, so contact Ladies Leigon unit meets; invites others to join them The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit #24, Perry, met Sept. 15 at the New Perry Hotel for lunch and a business meeting. This Auxiliary was organized in Feb., 1928, and met in homes until an American Legion Post Home was built. When the Post Home was no longer accessible, the Auxiliary began meeting at the New Perry Hotel every third Thursday of each month for lunch and business. At the Sept. 15 meeting, 17 members were present. Auxiliary Chaplain Louise Denney conducted a memorial Hospital re-joins trust fund Perry Hospital has announced plans to participate again this year in the Georgia Department of Medical Assistance Indigent Care Trust Fund Program. Through this program, Perry Hospital will receive funding to provide targeted services to persons in the community who are recipi ents of the Medicaid program or qualify as medically indigent. According to hospital adminis trator Jim Peak, the hospital will be able to offer a transportation ser vice for non-emergency patients through the Indigent Care Trust Fund. Perry Hospital’s participation in the Indigennt Care Trust Fund will provide services through the Houston County Health Department, including Family Connection, school-based nursing clinics and remote health care clin ics. Club installs new officers The Tahsena Club installed their 1994-1995 officers at the club’s September meeting, held at the home of Bonnie Johnson, club president. The new officers are: Bonnie Johnson, Presidennt; Belinda Pierce, Vice President; Lea Turner, Treasurer; Deena Walton, Secretary; and Dana Carpenter, Parliamentarian. To the friends of Francis Simons - Her daughter would like to thank everyone for the special kindness extended our mother throughout the years. We also want to extend our thanks for your prayers and thoughtfulness at the time of our loss. Cathy Hawk and Peggy Poole service in memory of Jesse (Mrs. Paul) Hardy who had been a very active member. She joined in 1946 and was deceased in July 1994.
