We at Houston Times-Joumal
have received several requests for
Wanda Sullivan’s prize-winning
recipe in the second annual Cherry
Dessert Contest sponsored by Say
It With Cookies, an official part of
the Cherry Blossom Festival, held
at Central City Park in Macon in
1989. Her winning recipe for
Cherry Blossom Cheesecake is be
low:
CHERRY BLOSSOM
CHEESECAKE (Wanda Sulli
van’s Recipe)
CRUST:
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup chocolate wafer crumbs
1/2 cup pecan meal
2 Tblsp granulated sugar
4 Tblsp butter, melted
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix all ingredients in bowl, blend
ing butter to blend mixture. Press
mixture Firmly onto bottom of
greased 9-inch springform nan.
Bake 7-10 minutes. Cool on wire
3 box packages cream cheese,
room temperature
2 Tblsp flour
3/4 cup sugar
4 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Tblsp Kirsch Cherry Liqueur
6 ounces white chocolate, melted
1/2 cup sour cream
6 ounces cherry preserves
Melt white chocolate until
smooth, cool to lukewarm. Using
electric mixer, beat cream cheese
until smooth, add flour and sugar.
Blend eggs one at a time. Add
vanilla and Kirsch. While mixer is
running, add melted white choco
late. Fold in sour cream.
Pour Filling over cooled crust.
Warm cherry preserves enough to
drizzle over the top of your Filling,
cut through the batter with knife to
create a marble effect. Bake until
cheesecake is Firm around edges but
still moves slightly in center, about
45 to 55 minutes. (Have looping
mixture ready when you take the
cake out of the oven.)
TOPPING:
16 ounces sour cream
1 Tblsp Kirssch
4 Tblsp sugar
Mix all ingredients in bowl then
pour mixture over the cake, using a
spatula, spread to edges. Return
cake to oven and continue cooking
5-7 minutes. Cool cake on rack l
hour then refrigerate overnight.

Keri Lynn Griggs and Brian
Patrick Dolan have announced their
plans to be married on Saturday,
Dec. 17, 1994 in the llnadilla First
Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
Keri is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Billy Griggs of Unadilla and
the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.
W.C. Griggs Jr. of Pinehurst and
the late Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Russell
of Unadilla. She graduated from the
Fullington Academy and is
pursuing a B.A. degree in Speech
Norris completes 20 years on job
Kathy Norris has completed 20
years with Crossroads Medical
Management, owner of New Perry
Nursing Home in Perry.
Norris is the chief financial offi
cer at the nursing home. In general,
she runs the corporate office in
Perry.
Norris began work for Bill and
Wanda Davis on Sept. 3, 1974.
She transfered to the corporate of
fice for Crossroads Medical
Management in 1992.
Norris says that she likes work
ing for the elderly and feels an obli
gation to make their lives easier.
Her husband is Gerald Norris,
Alltel employee and brother of
Donna (Mrs. Keiland) Hairrington,
who is also employed at the New
Perry Nursing Home.
For exercise, Kathy walks and
plays golf. She belongs to both
Gray, Jonathan Holland, Daniel Huff, Greg Ingram,
Britni Roeder.
