Comforters are donated by UMC woman's group Forty comforters were made available to the Vashti Center through the efforts of members of the United Methodist Women of the Perry United Methodist Church. Vashti Center, located in Thomasville, Ga., is a residential treatment center for severelly emo tionally disturbed children and youth. Its mission is to provide quality psychological, educational, spiritual and habilitative services to children and families. Support from United Methodist Women and the North and South Georgia conferences of the United Methodist Church is crucial to Vashtii’s existence. Rev. James Davis, Director of Resource Development, spoke at the Perry United Methodist Women’s October meeting and ex pressed a need for commforters for 40 beds at the Vashti Center. After his talk, the women’s group embarked on Project T.L.C.: Tender Loving Comforter. Through generous donations, 40 comforters were presented by UMW President Peggy Jerles, to Rev. Davis on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the church, for which he, on behalf of the center, thanked those responsi ble for the gift. The vanload of comforters was sent to Vashti with the love of Perry UM Women, who wish to give glory to God, the True Com forter, for this successful endeavor.
