Kathleen cook wins contest Rhonda Hitch of Kathleen took third place in the main dish category with her Vidalia Onion South ern Brunch Pie at the Great Tastes of Georgia Recipe Contest Oct. 22 in Macon. Hospital set to enter program Perry Hospital has announced plans to participate again this year in the Georgia Department of Medical Assistance Indigent Care Trust Fund Program. Through this program. Perry Hospital will receive funding to provide targeted services to persons in the community who are recipients of the Medicaid program or qualify as medically indigent. According to Administrator Jim Peak, Perry Hospital will be able to offer a Transportation Service fot non-emergency patients through the Indigent Care Trust Fund. Persons interested in scheduling transportation to the hospital or to physician offices in non-emergency situations should call the hospital at 987-3600. Beginning in December, Perry Hospital will provide a resource program to assist pregnant women in gaining access to medical, nutritional, social, educational, employment and other needed services. In addition to these two new programs, Perry Hospital's participation in the Indigennt Care Trust Fund will provide services through the Houston County Health Department, including Family Connection, school-based nursing clinics and remote health care clinics. “We are committed to providing quality health care and medical services to the people of our community,” Peak commented. “Perry Hospital is pleased to participate in this trust fund for indigent care which enables us to offer these types of programs." Sean Knight, son of Don and Joellen Knight of Kathleen, is one of 10,000 Navy and about 2,000 Marine Corps members patrolling the waters just miles off the coast of Haiti. Knight is with the Marine forces stationed onboard USS Wasp. Wasp, homeported in Norfolk, Va. is the kirgest amphibious assault ship in the world.
