The ideal candidate must have the ability to direct and manage convention and tourism programs, including strategic planning, marketing and promotion, and budgeting. Position qualifications: Candidate must have at least five years of successful management experience in the Convention and Visitors Bureau field, hospitality or tourism industry. An undergraduate degree is required, preferable in the marketing field. Bureau Overview: The Perry Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is a non-membership affiliate of iocal government, currently with an annual operating budget of $340,000 and a staff of six. The Executive Director is directly responsible to the Board of Directors of the Bureau. Perry has approximately 1400 hotel rooms, a soon to be opened community center, and a new convention center at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter.
