Kings Chapel
students put
ideas in book
Using a combination of their
artistic, culinary and writing skills,
students and Debbie Taylor, art
instructor at Kings Chapel
Elementary School, have published
a cookbook.
Parents proofread, sorted,
numbered pages and aided in the
building of “Cooking at the
Cougar Cafe”, named for the
school’s mascot.
An art contest determined which
art work would be used as
illustrations for the food sections.
Debbie Taylor designed the cover
which shows a mama cougar in
chefs cap serving her baby cougars
at a table. The artwork throughout
the book is very good for
elementary students’ work.
The PTC, with Sharron Prickeu,
PTC President, was responsible for
getting the cookbook published. It
may be purchased at Hilderzbrand’s
and the school office for $lO per
copy.

Bishop said the specialty crop

anticipated fight to protect the
peanut program. Newly-elected
House Majority Leader Richard
Armey of Texas has led efforts to
kill the peanut program in the past.
With farm programs up for
reauthorization, backers of the
peanut program in the House are
preparing for another battle this
year. Bishop said.
