Willie Mae Whitest
Willie Mae Whitest, of 1321
State Ave. died recently in a local
hospital. Born in Dooly County,
she had lived in Houston County a
number of years. She was the
daughter of the late Emma and
Richard Kelly and was the widow of
William Whitest. She was a
member of Oldfield Baptist Church
where she served on the Mother
Board and Missionary Board. She
was a member of the Adult Sunday
School Class and the Senior
Citizen Program.
Survivors: children, Ollie
Milton, Willie Code, Jennie
Kaigler, Carrie Lester, Pearl
William, William Whitest and
Calvin Whitest, all of Perry, James
Whitest and Robert Whitest, both
of Elko, and Joe Whitest of Belle
Glade, Fla.; sister and brother,
Gussie Mae Blackmon of Perry,
Minnie Skipper of New York,
Annie Titus of Boston, and Charles
L. Stewart of Florida; 18
grandchildren; and 12 great
grandchildien.
Services: Were held in
Oldfield Baptist Church with burial
in the Springcreek Cemetery. The
Rev. W.G. Bass officiated.
Richardson Funeral Home of Perry
had charge of arrangements.
Wilene (Bryant) Boutwell
EUREKA SPRINGS. Ark. -
Wilene (Bryant) Boutwell, a
resident of Eureka Springs,
Arkansas was bom August 8. 1911
in Milton, Fla., a daughter of
James Andrew and Ginna (Curtis)
Bryant. She departed this life
Tuesday, January 17 in Eureka
Springs at the age of 83.
Mrs. Boutwell was a
homemaker and a member of the
First Presbyterian Church in Eureka
Springs. She was the State
President of the Georgia
Pharmaceutical Auxiliary and a
member of the Holiday Island
Country Club and a former member
of both the Riverside Country Club
in Perry.
On January 23. 1929 she was
united in marriage with Benjamin
F. Boutwell, Jr. who survives her.
She is also survived by her son
Sidney F. Boutwell of Eureka
Springs.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, two brothers, J. Kenneth

sisters, G. Pauline Bryant and
Louise (Bryant) Hertwig and a son,
Benjamin Coleman Boutwell.
Memorial services were held
Jan. 22 at the First Presbyterian
Church in Eureka Springs with
Rev. Tom Rawlings officiating.
Her remains were cremated.
Memorial donations may be made
to a memorial fund set up at the
First Presbyterian Church in Eureka
Springs. Arrangements were by
Nelson Funeral Service.
Becky T. Ethridge
KATHLEEN - Becky T.
Ethridge, 43 of 119 Roberts Road,
died Feb. 22. Bom in Phenix City,
Ala., she was retired from Robins
Air Force Base. She was a member
of Northview United Methodist
Church and was secretary for the
Warner Robins American Little
League. Survivors: husband,
Michael Ethridge of Kathleen;
children, Wynn Ethridge of
Kathleen and Nikki Ethridge of
Macon; mother, Anna Tomblin of
Warner Robins; and sisters, Pat
Nixon of Bonaire and Tracy Wallace
of Albany.
Services: Held Jan. 24 at
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
Burial; Parkway Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Allen Books officiated. In
lieu of flowers, the family requests

hospital. She had resided in
Hayneville for 83 years, and was a
member of the Assembly of God

she was the daughter of the late

Dollie Vance, Bertha Watkins,
Mary Arnold and Fletcher T.
Watkins, all of Perry, John W.
Watkins of Dania, Fla., and Willie
J. Watkins of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.;
sister, Daisy M. Campbell of
Hollywood, Fla.; 51 grandchildren;
83 great-grandchildren; and 16 great
great-grandchildren.

January 14, at Shiloh Baptist
Church in Henderson. Burial: tire

Frances Skupas Svoboda, 80, of
106 Plantation Place died Friday,
January 13, at Perry Houston
County Hospital.
A native of Illinois, she had
resided here for 25 years> She was a
Catholic and a former and active
member of the League of Women
Voters. Survivors: a brother.

Model airplanes to crowd Agricenter
The Georgia Aircraft Modelers
Association (GAMA) will hold the
Southeastern Model Show at the
Perry Agri-Center Jan. 28.
The show will be held in the
McGill building and flying
demonstrations will be held in the
outdoor area beside the building.
The demonstrations will begin at
10 a.m.
Several interesting model aircraft
will be flown, including a 16-foot
B-29 bomber modeled after the
Enola Gay of atomic bomb fame.
The aircraft will be flown at 10:30

models of helicopters, electric
powered; aircraft and aerobatic
models will be flown. The show
has been established as an annual
show in the Perry Agri-Center. The
show attracts several thousand
modelers who come to display the
craft they have built and flown. The
participants are from most of the
southeastern states.
