Glass ministry needs 95 more volunteers
The Bill Glass Prison
Ministry's "Weekend of
Champions" April 28-30, will
involve 10 prisons in the Perry
area, housing a total of
approximately 6,600 inmates,
including 800 women.
In addition to celebrity
evangelists, there is a need of 260
men and 70 women to serve as
counselors during the weekend.
Training will be provided
Thursday night, April 27, for first
timers.
Bill Glass, an all-American
football player at Baylor
University and four-time all pro
with the Cleveland Browns, earned
his degree at a seminary while
playing football. He left the sport
in 1969 to become a full-time
evangelist.
Emory Wilson, special assistant
to the President of the Bill Glass
Ministries, lives in Perry. He said,
"Bill Glass Ministries deals with
the godlessness of our society and
its devastating effect upon our
families and children."
Wilson continued, "One
ministry deals with reaching
young adults at the school-age
level before they get to prison by
going into schools - all over
America. Mike McCoy, the all-
American at Notre Dame tuid all
'pro with the Green Bay Packers,
heads up the program "Champions
for Today."
There will be a Youth Rally"
on April 28 at the First Baptist
Church in Perry. Many of the
athletes and entertainers will
perform and give their testimony.
Bill Glass will conclude the
program.

volunteers have signed up to
become counselors. About 95

Revival at Houston Lake Baptist
church will be held on Sunday, 11
a.m. and 7 p.m. and Monday
through Wednesday, at 7 p.m., with
the Rev. Robert Wigley as
evangelist.
Wigley is an evangelist from
Hazlehurst. He taught high school
in Jeff Davis County for 26 years
and has a local ministry with
youth.
