He attended Houston County public schools and Fort Valley Normal and Industrial School. Survivors: children. Phyllis Flowers and James Bynuin, both of Warner Robins; sisters and brothers, Ethel B. Williams and Mildred B. Montgomery, both of Perry, John Bynum of Albany and Timothy Bynum of Warner Robins; three grandchildren; and a great grandchild. Services: Were held March 17 in New Hope Baptist Church with burial in Magnolia Park No. 2 Cemetery, Georgia 96. Rev. Dennis I larden officiated. Rose Marie Maine Warner Robins Rose Marie Maine, of 119 Ignico Drive, Shannon Arms Apts., died March 11 in a local hospital. Born in Houston County, she was the daughter of die late Jim and Clara D. Maine. She moved to Thomaslon where she attended elementary school. She returned to Warner Robins and graduated from Warner Robins High School. Survivors: son, DeShaun M. Maine of Warner Robins; sisters and brothers, Annie Gray and Mattie Gray, both of Kathleen, Jennie Daniels, Betty Holiday and Jim 11. Maine Jr., all of Warner Robins, James Lane of Perry and Annie P. Heard of Bonaire. Services: March 18 in Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Thaddis Laidler officiated. Ralph M. Roberts FITZGERALD Ralph M. Roberts, 65 of 138 Lilac Road, died Tuesday. Bom in Irwin County, he had lived in Ben Hill and Irwin counties all of his life. He was a former sales representative for Liberty National Insurance Co. and was a former meat cutter at Wright's Grocery in Fitzgerald and at McCranies Freezer Locker in Ocilla. He was a Baptist and an Army veteran who served in the Korean War. Survivors: wife, Mary A. Roberts of Fitzgerald; children, Larry Hankins of Tilton and Beth R. Peterson of Fitzgerald; mother. Minnie L. Roberts of Ocilla; brothers and sister, W.B. Roberts, Hannon Roberts and Hugh Roberts, all of Ocilla, Barney Roberts of Lake Black shear, Troy Roberts of Fitzgerald. Margie Horne of Perry; and three grandchildren. Services: Held March 16 in Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Stone officiated. Bessie Kate Lamberth Bessie Kate,Levcrett I,am berth, 76, of 601 Pine Ridge Drive, died Wednesday in a Macon hospital. Born in Centerville, she had lived in Perry till of her life. She was a cafeteria manager, retired from the Houston County School Board. She was a member of Perry Presbyterian Church and the AARP. Survivors: husband, Charlie Lamberth; children, Helen Hudson of Perry, James L Shirah of Columbus, and Lamar Lamberth of Montezuma; six grandchildren; and Happy Ist Birthday „ i jJt Renaulta J. Green celebrated her first birthday on March 17, 1995. She is the daughter of Monalethia Richardson and Marcus F. Green. Maternal grandparents are Jean Richardson of Perry and Waltor L. Richardson of Macon. Paternal grandparents are Corriemae Green and Ed a great-grandchild. Services: March 17 in Perry Presbyterian Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Buford E. Roberts MILLEDGF. VILLE Buford E. Roberts, 64, died March 14 in a local hospital. Born in Coltondiile. Fla., he had lived in Middle Georgia 42 yetirs. He was a Baptist and an Air Force veteran who served in the Korean Wjir. He was the head of security, retired from Holiday Inn. Survivors; daughters, Debra D. Roberts and Rhonda Ci. Holland, both of Cleveland, and Brenda L. Howard of Perry; and four grandchildren. Services; Were held March 17 in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Gary Berrier officiated. Marcus E. Irby, Sr. M.ircus Eugene Irby. Sr., 72, of 1121 Morningside Dr. #l7 died Friday, M;irch 17 in a Statesboro hospital, lie was the son of John F. and Minnie Lou Andrews Irby and had resided in Perry for 10 years. Mr. Irby was a member of First Baptist Church, a Mason and a WWII veteran. He was retired Chamber cuts ribbon at W.D. Sullivan & Co. The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for W. D. Sullivan & Co. at the new location along Sam Nunn Boulevard in Perry at 10 a.m. on March 15. An open house followed the ribbon-cutting. Mayor Jim Worrall, County receives GEMA check The Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) presented Houston County a check for $29,540 Friday as p;irt of the continuing funding for damages caused by the July 1994 Hoods. GEMA representative Bill Blackwell made the presentation at Warner Robins city hall. The funds are to pay for the repair or replacement of public facilities damaged or destroyed by the Hoods. Houston is one of 55 counties declared eligible for federal disaster assistance by President Bill Clinton. As projects are completed and inspected, additional funds will be processed. Correction In last week's edition, a First Birthday photo, identified as Randarrius Bernard McCoy, had Randy McCoy listed as his father. Mr. McCoy possesses a DNA blood test by Genetic Design lab that proves he is not the child's lather and the child's last name should have been Rogers. The child's mother is Takesia Rogers. Carol McGuire Carol McGuire, 58, 2009 Highway 41 North, died Monday in a local hospital. Born in Rockingham, N.C., she was educated in Jones County public SCIiOOIS. Survivors: mother: Helen Harris of Gray; children: Belinda McGuire of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Darrell McGuire and Barry McGuire, both of Dalton. Greg McGuire of Perry; brothers, Roger Harris of Gray and Lewis Harris of Tampa, Fla: five grandchildren; and Don Tressler of Centerville, a close family friend. Memorial services: Wednesday in Mt. Calviu-y Lutheran Church in Warner Robins. The Rev. Gerhard C. Michael Jr. officiating. In lieu of Bowers, the family rests donations be made to Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Councilmen Hervia Ingram and Charles Lewis and representatives from businesses in the community were on hand for die ceremony. The new location has 4,300 square feet, compared to 2,100 square feet in die old location at the corner of Jemigan and Carroll streets. Wanda Sullivan was chosen to decorate WPGA-TV station in Macon. Sullivan's staff includes owners Wanda and Pat Sullivan, Betty Sheffield, A 1 Sanders, Selena Walls. Liz Stinson, Jim Allen and p:ul-time employees Andrea Hutto, Michelle Allen, Anna White, Christie Preston and Sheldon Lee. Perry trooper will graduate Sgt. FC Kenny Hancock, Commander of Post 15, Georgia State Patrol in Perry, graduates from the 180th session of the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Friday. FBI Director Louis Freeh will address die class. During the week course, Hancock completed training in legal issues, management, interpersonal violence, forensics, interview and interrogation, computers and physical training. Classes were made up of 259 members, from 50 states and 29 foreign countries. Upon his graduation, Hancock will return to duty at Post 15. .- a * POWER RANGERS The Power Rangers will be at the Kings Chapel Elementary School’s annual Spring Carnival Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Power Rangers due at Kings Chapel The Power Rangers are coming to Kings Chapel School Saturday. The cartoon heroes will be on hand to demonstrate their famous moves and will be available for picture-taking sessions. The Rangers will be the featured highlight of the school's seventh annual Spring Carnival.
