Weyerhaeuser’s green,
growing forests do more than
just grow wood for the products
we all need.
They’re also “oxygen
factories” that help purify the
air we aii breathe.
Young, fast-growing forests
like ours cleanse the air by
converting vast amounts of
carbon dioxide into wood and
oxygen. Old, slow-growing
trees, on the other hand, are
much less efficient at this
conversion process.
Most people believe that
across our nation we should
retain some older forests, for
particular wildlife, aesthetic or
other values. We agree.
But in Weyerhaeuser’s
working forests, we also believe
people, wildlife, and the
environment all benefit when '
we harvest mature trees, use
their wood wisely, and promptly
replant our lands to begin
once more the whole process
of forest renewal.
The result, across America, is
millions of acres of carefully
nurtured Weyerhaeuser forests
that are healthy, vigorous,
economically useful, and a
source of cleaner air for us all.
