Editor:
On behalf of the Perry Players, I
would like to express my apprecia
tion to Perry and the middle Georgia
community for their wonderful sup
port during our recent production of
“The Sound of Music.”
Our goal was to provide a quali
ty show to be enjoyed by people of
all ages, and we thank everyone
who supported us in this effort. We
are especially pleased the more that
2,000 people attended during the
run of the show, which was a
record-breaking figure for Perry
Players productions.
Many businesses allowed posters
to be displayed. This brought atten
tion to our production and we thank
them for their cooperation.
Countless hours of volunteer labor
were also contributed by people in
our community.
The tireless efforts of people in
this area and the support of local
businesses truly epitomized the
meaning of community theater.
Thank you for your continued sup
port. Our next show will be a hilari
ous comedy entitled “Love, Sex and
the IRS.“ I’m already looking for
ward to it. I hope you are, too.

ATF been brought to trial for mass
murder? They were responsible for
the deaths of more than 80 men,
women and children in Waco, Texas
on April \9, 1993.
They attacked these people in
their home with tanks used as batter
ing rams. Then they gassed them and
set their home on fire. The agents
who carried out the attack were act
ing on orders from Reno and Clinton.
Janet Reno had been appointed
Attorney General by Clinton only a
short time before this happened.
This mass murder by our govern
ment officials was the tragic end of
an incident started 51 days before
on Feb. 28. Agents from the federal
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and
Firearms had decided to arrest
David Koresh on a federal firearms
possession charge. Koresh was the
leader of a church called the Branch
Davidians, located near Waco.
More than 100 Branch Davidians
lived in a collection of buildings
called a compound about 10 miles
east of Waco. This compound was
their home and their church.
The ATF agents could have arrest
ed Koresh any time they wanted out
side the compound and no innocent
people would have been killed.
However, the ATF decided to make
an assault training exercise out of it
by attacking the men, women and
children in their home and church.
The ATF launched an all-out, pre
emptive helicopter gunship assault
against the families living in the
compound. The Branch Davidians
exercised their God-given and con
stitutional rights and defended them
selves and their families.
When the firefight was over, six

If we could legislate morals then
we would have two parent.

country and the problem of dead

Unfortunately, we cannot force
that so the next best thing is to
track down those deadbeats and
make them pay. As child support
collections grow, welfare spend

Maye said the county handled
more than 100.000 tons of refuse at
the county landfill last year.
Commissioner Larry Snellgrove

improvements will continue to be

agents lay dead. It is probable that
some of the ATF agents were killed
by their fellow agents when they
were caught in the crossfire.
Over the next 51 days, lies and
innuendos spewed forth from the
mouths of Clinton, Reno and the
FBI spokesmen. Hints of possible
child abuse inside the compound
flowed from their mouths daily.
This was later proven false.
From day one, the Branch
Davidians were referred to as a cult
instead of a church. The victims of
the assault were referred to as
cultists instead of men, women and
children. This was done to make the
Branch Davidians seem different
from the rest of us. This was done to
make the Branch Davidians seem
unworthy of our sympathy and sup
