JUMPING ROPE Third, fourth and fifth graders at
Morningside Elementary School recently participated in
an American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart
fund-raiser. Eighty students jumped rope for 90 minutes,
earning #3,233.34 in contributions for the Heart
Association. With their ropes are Brandon McGuire, Atish
Lakhu, Candy Wright, April Vanderford and Mrs. Sowell.

MODERN DANCE Heather Toliver, a 14-year-old

has been invited to study at the world-renowned Hdnl
Conservatory in Boca Raton, Fla. The daughter of Mr. dnfl
Mrs. Kevin Toliver, she is one of 31 dance students attend*
ing HARID this year. Toliver was a student at The
Academy of Dance before enrolling at the conservatory.
The Harid Conservatory was established in 1987 to pro
vide high quality, professional training for gifted young
dancers and musicians. The HARID Dance Division is an
accredited high school program, which combines profes
sional performance training with an enriched academic
education. Of the hundreds who apply, few are accepted,
and they must pass a stringent audition process for
admission. Those who are invited to attend receive full
tuition scholarships. In addition to the year-round pro
gram, The Harid Conservatory Dance Division offers a 4-
week summer school program for students in academic
grades 7 through 11.

Fund to help Charles Hardy family

A fund has been set up at
C. 8.& T. Bank in Perry, Gary
Bishop said, by the sister-in-law
of Charles Allen Hardy Sr. of Red
Gable Inn in Perry.
Hardy was seriously injured in
a head-on collision Nov. 8 in front
of Steak and Shake on the 247
Connector in Warner Robins, per
sonnel from the Warner Robins
Police Department said.
Hardy’s sister-in-law, Sandra
Duffell of Perry, was instrumental
in setting up the fund for Hardy on
Nov. 14 at C.B.&T Bank in Perry.

broken limb, lacerated liver and
punctured kidney. He is in a coma
at the Medical Center of Central

facility. The proposed route for these mains is to cross Sandy Run Creek, the
southern boundary of RAFB, head north along the GA Powe 1 MO MF*tn
ment for 1500 linear feet (L.F.) and northwest along a jeep trail for 1380 L.F. to
the GA Highway 247 right of way.
ALTERNATIVES TO THE PROPOSED SITE: Three alternative routes to
the proposed routing were considered by the City of w ®"ier Robins ami the
Municipal Gas Authority prior to the development of the P™ p ® f a 2j a s* l 2{J; n IJj aaa
routes include (A) Tie in to an existing 30’ sewer trunk north of Sandy Run Creek
and paralleling 5000 L.F. of railroad and 7000 L.F. of the QA Power transmission
power line easement. (B) Construction of a new pipeline Into the head works of
the existing treatment plant, paralleling 5500 L.F. of GA HjQhwjjy 2*7 ®hd 5000
L.F. along the power line casement. (C) Beginning construction as In (B),parallel
ing 1000 L.F. of GA Highway 247, 5600 L.F. of Old Hawklnsvllle Road and 1000
L.F. of the GA Power transmission line casement.
ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS: The Environmental Assessment considered
and evaluated the following: natural resources such as wetlands and endangered
species, and cultural resources, that is, archaeological sites. In addition, methods
of construction in the Wetlands was considered. The Environmental Assessment
concluded that the proposed action would not result in significant impacts on the
environment.
CONCLUSION: Based upon the above considerations, the potential impacts to
the human and natural environment from the implementation of the proposed
action are not significant. A Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) is therefore
warranted.
COMMENTS: The 30-day comment period begins on November 18, 1996 and
comments must be received by December 12, 1996. Comments should be
