Victory Christian Fellowship

Saturday night service set
at Andrew Methodist
Andrew United Methodist
Church of Kathleen hosts a con
temporary, praise and worship ser
vice on Saturday nights at 6:30
p.m.
Music is led by a 10-member
praise band. Familiar, easy-to-sing
praise and worship choruses as
well as hymns as the music for the
congregation to sing.
Relevant teaching forms the
basis of the sharing portion of the
service led by the two pastors of
Andrew United Methodist Church.
Subject matter for these times of
sharing are intended to give focus
and direction for real-life, day-to
day problems everyone faces.
Child care is provided for chil
dren age 5 and under.
Anyone seeking further infor

WESTERN ROUND UP Youths of Houston Lake Baptist
Church participate in various activities (above and befow)
during the recent Western Round-Up at the Church.
According to Lee Luke, chairperson of the Children's
Committee of the church, several area businesses donat
ed supplies for the Round-up which featured candy,
apples and prizes for the participants. Lake also praised
members of the church who provided chili, hot dogs and
fixings for the event. Activities included a hay ride
(above) and pie throwing contests. Another popular activ
ity was the indoor horse ride (below).

The second annual
Thanksgiving Food Distribution
will be held Nov. 26, by Perry
Presbyterian Church whose youth
asked two years ago that they
might have some part in helping
other people out at the
Thanksgiving season.
They will distribute groceries to
between seven and ten needy fam
ilies, as a testimony to God’s
goodness. A Bible and some
gospel literature will be included
in each care package, along with
an explanation of the reason why
this is being done.
The congregation can be
involved by bringing canned and
non-perishable groceries to the
church through Nov. 26. The items
will be collected in the Fellowship
Hall behind the sanctuary. The
youth will sort and deliver the
food Nov. 26.

During this Christmas season
Perry Presbyterian Church is par
ticipating in Angel Tree, a ministry
of Prison Fellowship founded by
Chuck Colson. Angel Tree pro
vides Christmas gifts for the chil
dren of prisoners.
The church has 40 children with
30 families and hopes to get each
child two gifts (one toy and one
piece of clothing), and each family
a fruit basket. All fruit baskets will
be purchased at one time so per
sons may want to give a sl2 dona
tion toward the baskets.
Beginning Nov. 20, the angels
will be on the tree in the
Fellowship Hall. Members are
encouraged to select an angel and
purchase the gift requested by the
child or his/her caregiver.
Church volunteers will visit
each family, present the gospel and
present gifts on behalf of the
absent parent and in the name of
Middle Georgia Sod Installation and Services, Inc.

Ecumenical Thanksgiving
service planned
The Rev. Paul F. Gerlock, rector
of All Saints Episcopal Church of
1708 Watson Blvd.. Warner
Robins, has announced plans for a
special ecumenical Thanksgiving
service at All Saints.
The service will he at 7 p.m. Nov.
27 and will feature full participation
by members of the Faith Evangelical
Lutheran Church of 301 N. Pleasant
Hill Road, Warner Robins.
The Rev. Donald Rehner, pastor
of Evangelical Lutheran, will pro
vide the sermon while the Rev.
Gerlock will conduct the
eucharist.
Gerlock said this is the first
joint service between the two
churches.
