The 1996 banquet for Past
Masters and Widows of Houston
Lodge #35, F.& A.M., Perry, was
held at Perry Holiday Inn, on Nov.
11.
Eight widows of deceased
Lodge 35 members were honored
with Christmas ornaments
golden angels with a background
of holly, red berries and red ribbon
bows, all affixed to small straw
fans, suitable for hanging on a
Christmas tree, wall, or other
appropriate place.
Certificates were given to
members with 25 and 50 years’
service. Robert Hamblen Keen
and Robert Lee Satterfield
received 25-Year certificates and
pins from Charles E. Ferguson Sr.,
District Deputy. Horace Eugene
Smith and Edward Dow Mason
received 50-Year certificates, pins
and white aprons, with a golden
embroidered number 50 set
against a background. Ferguson
also made this presentation.
Members not present but earn
ing the 50-Year Award were
Thomas Dovert Mason Jr and
Richard John Perkins Sr. Ernie
Wright, past master, extended spe
cial appreciation to Stewart E.
Bloodworth and William Davie 111
for their outstanding support to
the lodge.
Art Hatten, Worshipful Master,
presented the Smokie Harper
Award to Joseph Scotty Smoak.
Bob Moore. C.W., presented the
Alton Rainey Award to Art
Hatten. The Mason of the Year
Award will be presented to
Millard Locke by Ernie Wright,
past master. Locke was unable to
attend this meeting.
