Project: MLP-401 (156), P.i.
311700, Peach County
Project: PRP-178-1 (225), P.I.
363760, Peach/Houston County
On December 12, 1996, The Georgia
Department of Transportation will hold a
public hearing concerning projects MLP
-401 (156) Peach County and PRPI7B-1
(225) Peach/Houston County. The meet
ing will be held from 4-7 p.m at the Quail
Run Elementary School (Cafeteria) located
at 250 Smithville Churcn Road in Warner
Robins, Georgia
The proposed project consist of con
structing a new location roadway and
new interchange at 1-75. Project PRP-178-
1 (225) is the construction of a new road
way that would tie CR 91/Sullivan Road,
near CR 178.Lakeview Road in Peach
County, to the existing Richard Russell
Pjrkway at Houston Lake Road in Houston
County. Project MLP4OI (156) proposes
to construct a new diamond interchange
with 1-75. Richard Russell Parkway is cur
rently four lanes with no median on 200
ft. of right of way from Houston Lake Road
to CR 442/Corder Road (approximately
0.9 miles). It then becomes a five lane
urban section. To provide continuity
between the proposed extension and the
existing five lane section, Russell Parkway
•is recommended to be widened to four
lanes with a 20 ft. raised median within
the existing right-of-way from Houston
Lake road to the existing 5 lane section
east of Corder Road. Corder Road would
be rerouted to tie into Russell Parkway at
the intersection of existing South Corder
Road.
Representatives from the Department
will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. with dis
plays. The public will have an opportunity
to attend this informal hearing anytime
during these hours to ask questions and
discuss the project with a Department rep
resentative. A court reporter will be avail
able during this time to allow the public an
opportunity to make comments about the
project. These comments will be included
in the transcript of the meeting.
Written statements may be submitted
to:
David E. Studstill, P.E.
State Environmental/Location Engineer
2993 Aviation Circle
Atlanta, Ga. 30336-1593
Written statements should be sent by
December 27, 1996. The displays used at
the meeting will be available for review at
the Georgia Department of Transportation
Area Engineer's Office located at 1950
Kings Chapel Road, Perry, Georgia, for
ten days after the public information meet
ing. As soon as the transcript is prepared,
it will also be available at this location.
