Members of the Mission
Committee of First Baptist
Church, Perry are sponsoring an
Angel Tree project this year to
provide Christmas gifts for the
children of inmates of the Houston
County Correctional Institute and
children and inmates involved in
the jail ministry in Warner Robins.
The tree is in the atrium and
contains the names of children
needing help. The age and sex of
the child is shown on the front of
the angel with any suggested
gift(s) shown on the reverse.
After selecting an angel, please
return the hook and bow to the
tree. Return gifts wrapped and
either boxed or bagged, with the
angel attached, to the church office
no later than Dec. 18. The Mission
Committee will be responsible for
delivering the gifts to the institute.

Celebration Worship Dec. 8, at
6:30 p.m., the Rev. Gene Bates
will be teaching on the reality of
“Hope for a Season”. This two
week series is intended to focus on
the problems many have during

PMUC Women host
annual Christmas tea
The women of the Perry United
Methodist Church began the
Christmas season with their annu
al Christmas Tea on Dec. 1 in the
Sanctuary of the church. President
Peggy Jerles welcomed everyone
and gave a devotional thought.
There were 50 stuffed teddy bears
around the chancel rail brought by
the members for use by the
Rainbow House.
Charles Stone accompanied
Don Hutchison who sang two
Christmas selections. Stone also
played the offertory. This offering
will be contributed to the
Methodist Home in Columbus and
the Vashti School in Thomasville.
One of the highlights of the
Christmas social year each year is
the recognition of special member
ships honoring babies and mem
bers with donations to the Mission
work of the church,. Doris Clay
presented the baby memberships
to Alexander Michael Kafskey by
his grandmother, Marguerite
Messer; Benjamin Pope by Circle
#5, and Madeline Dannenberg by
Circle #5. Members being honored
were: Janie Watson by Circle #2,
Colleen Mathis by Circle #4 and
Carrie Hale by Circle #l.
Elaine Wright, Vice-President,
introduced the program speaker,
the Rev. Joyce Payne who has
served as the Associate Pastor of
Trinity Methodist Church in
Warner Robins. Her topic was
“And the Gift Goes On”.
After the program, a Christmas
Teas was enjoyed in the church
Fellowship Hall.
